 As we all know that the goal of the secondary guidance counselor is to help the learner discover who they really
want to be- to find their passion, to find the pathway that is best for them as well as to create the maximum
potential for success as fully functioning members of society.
 A. To unleash their full potential and achieve their goals. School counseling program guide and teach individual
to achieve their personal growth., and to achieve this, they must need to know to look toward the goal, or
design the best strategy to reach it and how to focus on it. Once they have set their sights on their goal and
worked out how to achieve it, then we as a HS Guidance counselor proudly say that we achieve it also to get
them out of their comfort zone.
B. social skills and values are important competencies that we as HS Guidance counselor must facilitate it
towards our students learn a proper communication and interaction with others in any environment. Positive
social skills, such as communication, empathy, interpersonal and listening skills, these are beneficial not just to
their personal life but I guessed also to their professional life. for instance, in their future workplace, these skills
can be an essential aspect staff interaction, planning and collaboration.
C. We know that career planning is essential to achieving satisfaction and success in their chosen career. A
career goal is indeed a clear statement that defines the ultimate job of our learners in a future that aspire them
throughout the course of their career. Provided it is realistic, and a clear career goal allows them to then set
themselves an action plan to work towards to achieve their professional ambitions.
D. We must embark to out learners that they don’t need to limit themselves to ordinary things because once
they are limiting their potentials, so they are also limiting the open opportunities. As guidance counselor we
must teach them to start noticing their full potentials and be able to cope with those challenges.

 Example of providing responsive services for me that individual might experience high quality care and
immediate support and just set a proactive classroom management… me as a teacher I always do a ripple effects
that can generally do so the best by giving clear instructions to the child rather than by exerting pressure to
them. Another example is in appraisal, school counselors may use a variety of personality and vocational
assessment methods to help students explore vocation needs and interests. The responsive services provides
individual /small group counseling or students for instance, I a student’s behavior is interfering with his or her
achievement, the HS Guidance counselor will observe that student in class, provide consultation to teachers and
other personnel to develop a plan to address the behavioral issues and then work together to implement the
plan. They also help by providing consultation services to family members.
 For example the hs counselor help students prepare for post secondary education and/or training options
(college) by engaging students in finding accurate and meaningful information on entrance requirements,
financial aid, recommendation letters, test preparation ec.,

School counselors hace a lot o work- related responsibilities, and understanding those major job duties o a
school counselor could help a person decide whether or not this is the right career for their strengths and
personality

1. School counselors guide academic plans or students and for parents. For example, a counselor may help a
student schedule advanced placement exams and sign up for the classes that will help them earn college
credits. The counselor might coordinate with community colleges to help students take vocational training
classes. Some school counselors also work with students to identify scholarship oprtunities.
2. The best example here is carrer orientation and planning for entering grades 11-12
3. School counselors help also offer help for personal or social problems that could affect the students’
performance at school. For instance, a student who is bullied by other students might be at increased risk o
dropping out, excessive absences or self- harm. The counselor would teach that student about healthy
coping mechanisms and would also educate the bully or bullies and other students about the impact of the
situation. The counselor might work in concert with school administrators, resource officers or law
enforcement.
4. For transparency and avoid (pagrereklamo)
5. As a school counselors also we have to identify academic problems. They might work with school
psychologist or pediatrician to identiy child or students who is dyslexic or who has attention deficit
hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Counselors may also identify students who are at risk o dropping out or
violating truancy or attendance rules. The counselors work with such students to help them stay on a solid
academic path.

The Secondary School Career Guidance and

Counseling Act
In 2019, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Secondary School Career Guidance and
Counseling Act that is valid for public and private high schools across the country.

The act is aimed at helping students make wiser and more accurate decisions regarding their future
careers. To achieve that, the career guidance and counseling program was institutionalized in
schools.

The act also imposed the establishment of a National Secondary Schools Career Guidance and
Counseling Program (CGCP) to providing high-quality guidance and counseling services to students.

Such a decision standardizes and organizes the career guidance process and places emphasis on its
significance. The recognition of the role of such services is great as it proves the government cares
about the country residents and is ready to help them make a balanced decision that will lead to
satisfaction with the future career.

Accountability allows THEM to hold each other accountable and take responsibility for
THEIR actions and the actions of those around THEM. It breeds a sense of
commitment to THEIR FUTURE work and to meeting the expectations of others.
Additionally, accountability helps THEM grow more responsible. BRING
SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEM

 Career guidance consists of services that help HS Learners successfully manage

their career development. We know that HS learners seek out assistance from career
development professionals only when they are trying to choose a career for the first
time, or perhaps when they are going through a transition. The intent of career
guidance, however, is to provide support to individuals throughout their entire lives.

 All high schools must also establish CGCP centers to serve as a resource center for the
CGCP implementation. The centers will be headed by the school administrator with the
assistance of a trained career and employment guidance counselor.
DepEd will also conduct an annual National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) among
public and private high school students nationwide “to assess and evaluate the aptitude, skill or
inclination” of students in a particular field.
It will serve as a guide for the students in choosing their respective courses or career options

IT COMES IN DECISION MAKING.

2. an adult is mature, sensible, and fully grown. Upon entering adulthood and leaving
behind the teenage years, life becomes a lot more difficult. Young adults have to find
a job, somehow pay taxes, figure out how to rent an apartment, find a college, figure
out their major, somehow fit a job and college into their lives, and move out of their
parents’ house. Upon graduating high school, new adults have a lot on their plate.
