PART 1: PF = Trainee 1

NOTE TO INSTRUCTOR

Multi Crew Cooperation skills and Type Rating skills should not be trained. They could create confusion
versus the session objective.

The instructor shall focus on IR fundamentals as prescribed in the present FCID.

The Pilot Monitoring must only response to PF call-out.

● Provide SID Clearance based on Nav Aids

● Provide Clearance to intercept other tracks on different Nav Aids if applicable

Common Errors:
● No Wind correction on track
● No anticipation for Track interception
● No Energy Management (i.e. no Thrust management when intercepting the altitude ...)

Ask radial changes based on conventional Nav Aids:

 Join an inbound radial with angular deviation < 20 deg and > 20 deg
 Join an outbound radial with angular deviation > 20 deg and > 20 deg
 180 deg interception
 120 deg interception
 45 deg interception
 Follow a DME Arc

Remark: The wind parameters should be changed between different exercises. In this case, inform the trainee.

Common Errors:
 No anticipation when joining the radial
 No wind correction
 Workload Management due to parameter computation

The aim is to perform different entry based on a convention Nav Aids:
● 1. Provide radar vector to join the holding pattern
● 2. Trainee should perform: 1 entry + 1 holding Pattern
● 3. After the holding Pattern:
o Provide a new radar vector to another entry
o Change the wind and inform the trainee
● 4. Trainee should perform: 1 entry + 1 holding Pattern
o Provide a new radar vector to another entry
o Change the wind and inform the trainee
● 5. After the holding Pattern
o Provide a new radar vector to another entry
o Change the wind and inform the trainee

Common Errors:
● Workload Management
● Flight Management with automation
● Wind correction not appropriate
● Appropriate Entry
