A neck on a garment that comes down to a point on the throat or chest, resembling the shape of the letter "
V"
3. SCOOP NECKLINE
A scoop neckline is a rounded neckline on a garment which is conspicuously lower in the front than in
the back.
4. CREW NECKLINE
A crew neck (crewneck or crew-neck) is a type of shirt or sweater that has a round neckline and no
collar, often worn with other layers.

A bateau neck is a straight neckline that stretches across the collarbone to each shoulder.
A boat neck, also called a bateau neck or Sabrina neckline, is a wide neckline that runs horizontally,
front and back, almost to the shoulder points.

Cowl Necklines are when a garment has draped, rounded folds around the neckline, which falls below
the collarbone. Cowl necklines became popular in the 1930s, although they are thought to have been
inspired by the fashions of Ancient Greece.

A U-neck opening on a shirt is basically what you would expect from the name. The neck opening of the
shirt is formed in the shape of the letter “U”.
9. SHIRT COLLAR
A shirt collar is an extra flap of fabric, usually with buttons and a front opening, located around the
neckline of a shirt. Originally, the shirt collar's purpose was to fold down over neckwear such as neckties
or bowties, but different shirt collar styles serve a number of fashion purposes today.

A button-down collar shirt is any dress or sport shirt whose collar attaches to the front panels of a shirt
via buttons.

A collar forming a notch with the lapels of a garment at the seam where collar and lapels join.

A rounded turned-down collar, without lapel notches, that extends down the front of a garment.
13. POINTED FLAT COLLAR
This is a narrow cut collar with squared ends that are at the center front of the collar. This collar is sewed
onto a rounded neckline.

A great place to start is with the Peter Pan Collar, an oddly recurring element of witch costumes that has
come to signify freedom, progress, and the valuation of women's belief systems.

A Puritan collar is a wide collar extending to the shoulders with squared corners at center front and out
edges.
16. RUFF COLLAR
The ruff increased in size, becoming a symbol of the aristocracy. Women wanted to show their status in
society and also wished to expose the bosom, so the ruff developed as a half circle—open in front and rising
in back. The ruff was at first worn with a supporting wire frame and was later starched.
17. TUXEDO COLLAR
The most traditional and formal tuxedo shirt style is the wingtip collar. Featuring two small wings, this
collar is the bow tie's best friend as it shows the full neckband. A popular, more modern choice is to
wear a semi-spread collar or one that is most complementary to the shape of your face.

a decorative clothing-accessory consisting of lace or other fabric falling from the throat, suspended from
or attached to a neckband or collar, or simply pinned at the throat.
19. BOW TIE
A modern bow tie is tied using a common shoelace knot, which is also called the bow knot for that
reason. It consists of a ribbon of fabric tied around the collar of a shirt in a symmetrical manner, so that

A 'set-in' sleeve has a seam at the shoulder which continues right around the arm.

shirt sleeves with diagonal seams from the neckline to the underarm area, creating a long, continuous
sleeve from the collarbone to the hem.

Kimono sleeve are wide loose short or wrist length. This style is obtained from traditional Japanese dresses
and adapted as today fashion.

A sleeve that is very wide at the top of the arm and narrows towards the wrist or elbow, cut in one piece
with the body of the garment.

A specific style of short sleeve that are cut and seamed to fit on the shoulder and taper to nothing
underneath the arm.
26. ROLL UP SLEEVE
One's sleeves is to fold up the ends of one's shirt sleeves to make them shorter.
27. ANGEL SLEEVE
A very long wide sleeve usually hanging loose from the shoulder often used on robes and gowns.

A sleeve that has a lot of fullness around the shoulder-bicep area but is fitted around the forearm/wrist.
