2023 Space Night RSVP Flyer (To Print)

Pre-ordered pizza can be picked up outside the cafeteria on the patio area. There will be a LIMITED supply of pizzas
available the day of (at a higher price than pre-orders). Take pictures in our Microgravity Photo Booth for a donation of
your choice to the Space Camp Scholarship Fund. Purchase/ Pick up your pre-ordered cookies from Alyssa's Cookie
Shed. Climb in a real hot air balloon basket. Browse vendor booths (giving away door prizes).
Silent Auction items out to view from 5:30 pm + (All proceeds go to the DSA Scholarship Fund.) Silent Auction closes at
8:45 pm.
6:30 - 7:15 p.m. Astronaut Don Thomas will present in the Frank R. Howes Theater.
7:10 p.m. Don Thomas will announce the 2 recipients of the Space Camp Scholarships
7:30 -8:00 p.m. Hands-on, family-friendly workshop session 1. Pre-kindergarten and non-DSA students are welcome to attend with a ticket.
8:00 -8:35 p.m. Pre-ordered pizza can be picked up outside the cafeteria on the patio area.

with TELESCOPES!! Browse Silent Auction (All proceeds go to the DSA Scholarship Fund.) and vendor booths (giving
away door prizes). Browse (and bid on) the Silent Auction items located on the courtyard stage.
8:45 pm- Silent Auction closes
8:40- 9:10 p.m. Hands-on, family-friendly workshops. Pre-kindergarten and non-DSA students are welcome to attend
with ticket. You do not have to sign up for a 2nd workshop during this time. If you have little ones and want to leave at
8:30, you can!
Silent Auction
If you wish to see the items in our silent auction, please download the free app "Bid Beacon" and join the Space Night
2023 Auction with this code: VE3KXX or scan the QR in the copy right corner after you download the app. You can
browse without having to bid on anything. The items will be available for bidding from Friday, February 3rd at 8:00 a.m.
and bidding will close on Fri. Feb. 10th at 8:45 p.m. New this year, you will put in a credit card number and if you are the
highest bidder, you will be charged through Bid Beacon. ALL money goes to sending DSA students to Space Camp!
Please consider ordering pizza to help support the fun filled workshops held on Space Night. It is only $6 for a whole
14 inch pizza (cheese or pepperoni).
Payment for pizza must be received (Exact cash or check) no later than February 2nd.
Checks must be made to DSA PTO or exact change can be sent. Cash received over the amount owed will be
considered a donation. If sending money to school with your student, please send in a sealed envelope clearly labeled:

Workshops
Please scan the QR Code in the top left corner to fill out the RSVP link by Thursday, February 2nd (Do NOT
return this paper.)
Workshops are filled on a first come, first served basis. If your family feels like the 2nd workshop time is too late at night
for your children, you can indicate that you will only participate in the 1st workshop. Prior to Space Night, your child will
get an envelope with your workshop tickets. Please be sure to register ALL participating children to ensure that there
will be enough supplies reserved for your family.

Descriptions for each workshop are below. We included recommended grade levels for workshops.
Make & Take Stomp Rocket & Launcher with Ms. Kaiser Who? Recommended for all ages. Great family activity!
Description: Families work together to build ONE stomp rocket launcher from PVC and then launch the rockets. Families take the
launcher home at the end of the workshop. This workshop is sponsored by Realator Devon Bascombe and NorthPoint Mortgage.
Water Bottle Rockets with Ms. Gotshall Who? Recommended for all ages. Great family activity!
Description: Work together as a family to make and launch a rocket from an empty soda bottle. You will learn about the history of
NASA's mission patches and make your own!
Act It Out with Mr. Moszenberg & Ms. McFall Who? Recommended for 2nd -8th grade (READING REQUIRED!)
Description: Students will have a role in Mission Control or inside the Space Shuttle. They will read the script to act out a mission to
space and back home.
Among Us Adventures Who? Recommended for 1st - 5th grade. Great family activity!
Description: Want to be a part of a space crew? This activity will transport you into the video game named "Among Us". If you are a "crewmate"
then you will have to perform different tasks at centers and if you are the secret "imposter", you will have to get the "crewmates" out of the game. This
will put you into the famous video game all while doing fun experiments.
Balloon Stamping Solar System Who? Recommended for 1st - 5th grade.
Description: Make your own solar system using balloons and paint! This is a magnificent way to learn more about space, and by the
end you will be an expert on the planets and solar system.… and of course, you will have tons of fun.
Constellations and Bingo Who? Recommended for pre kindergarten - 3rd grade.
Description: Join the Elementary Lighthouse Team student leaders to create a simple constellation game/ craft using beads! When
your craft is finished, we will play a round of Outer Space Bingo!
Explosive Rocket Art Who? Recommended for 2nd -8th grade. Great family activity!
Description: Rockets and art collide in this workshop! It is messy so please wear old shoes and clothing. You will launch fizzy rockets
with a twist to make your own artwork to take home and hang up.
Galaxy Slime Who? Recommended for kindergarten -5th grade. Great family activity!
Description: Make your own space-themed Galaxy Slime! It’s colorful, spectacular, and out-of-this-world!
Galaxy Slime with guest Astronomer Who? Recommended for 2nd -8th grade. Great family activity!
Description: Make your own space-themed Galaxy Slime! It’s colorful, spectacular, and out-of-this-world!
Let’s #GoForMars with Mrs. Drown Who? Recommended for 3rd -5th grade.
Teams will use LEGOS to design, build, and integrate three different elements to get to Mars.

Description: Have you ever wondered what it was like to live and work in space? Come to this session to try out what it would be like
to eat, work, and go to the bathroom in space!
Make Your Own Dwarf Planet Who? Recommended for 2nd -5th grade.
Description: Making your own dwarf planet is a fun and exciting way to learn about these small planets and create one with your own
imagination (and clay)!
Mars Rover Mania with a guest engineer Who? Recommended for 2nd -8th grade.
Description: Learn about the basics of robotics and pilot a rover through a course to complete its mission. You must bring your own
phone/iPad with yahboom robot app pre-installed.
Planet Art Who? Recommended for pre kindergarten through 3rd grade
Description: Learn about the planets in our solar system and do a fun art project to make your own planet.
Solar System Jewelry with Mrs. Abati Who? Recommended for 2nd -8th grade
Description: Students will make a solar system from beads and turn it into a necklace or keychain.
Space in a Jar Who? Recommended for pre kindergarten through 4th grade
Description: Come join us for a book about stars and then you can get creative and make your own piece of space to take home in a
jar.
Space Night Paint Night with Mrs. Westfall Who? Recommended for 5th -8th grade.
Description: Paint along with Mrs. Westfall to create a beautiful space-themed acrylic painting on canvas.
Spray Painting the Solar System Who? Recommended for 2nd -8th grade. Great family activity!
Description: Learn about the 8 planets in our solar system and then you will have the opportunity to spray paint your own
Star Dust Who? Recommended for pre kindergarten through 5th grade
Description: Come on over and create your very own shooting star. It will be just as awesome and unique as you are!
Surface Tension with a special guest Who? Recommended for 2nd -8th grade. Great family activity!
Description: Join a special guest to learn more about surface tension with an engaging experiment.
Build & Race Lunar Rovers with Mrs. Mosley Who? Middle School ONLY 6th-8th grades
Description: In this engineering design challenge you will design, build, and race your own Lunar Rover.. Prizes
will be awarded.
