Syringe (with picture)
- When the nurse pulls the plunger, it makes the volume within
the chamber to increase in return makes pressure decrease
creating vacuum. The vacuum within the chamber will then suck
fluid through the needle since pressure inside is low and
volume is increased. This is an example of Boyle’s Law.

Pressure Cooker (With picture)
- In a pressure cooker, the pressure of the steam inside the
cooker increases as it gets heated. As the temperature of the
steam increases, its pressure also increases proportionally.

Balloon (with picture)
- As you blow up a balloon, you are forcing gas
molecules into it. The more molecules, the
greater the volume. Thus, the balloon expands.

Thanks for listening!
Explanation:
First slide:
Gas law does not only apply to theoretical computations but is
applied to different activities in everyday life. Gas laws are all
around us and play an essential role in many everyday processes. In
this section some of these applications will be discussed.
Baking:
Carbon dioxide gas expanding with the increase of temperature during
baking is one example of application of Charles’ law. Charles’ Law states
that the volume occupied by a fixed amount of gas is directly proportional to
its absolute temperature, if the pressure remains constant. So as the
temperature of the CO2 inside the pastry increases, it also increases in
volume causing it to be more fluffy. (P’wede ninyo tagalugin itong last

Syringe:
The mechanism used by syringe is an example of application of the
Boyle’s law. Boyle’s Law states that the volume of a given mass of gas varies
inversely with the pressure when the temperature is kept constant. So as the
volume inside the syringe expands, the pressure decreases creating a vacuum
and the fluid fills up. (P’wede ninyo tagalugin itong last sentence para mas

Pressure Cooker:
The trapped steam inside the pressure cooker increases the pressure and
temperature inside the cooker, which cooks the food more quickly and
efficiently. The safety valve on the pressure cooker is designed to release
excess pressure if it becomes too high and prevent the pot from exploding.
Gay-Lussac’s Law states that the pressure of a given mass of gas varies
directly with the absolute temperature of the gas, when the volume is kept
constant. So as the steam inside the pressure cooker heats up, the pressure
increases. (P’wede ninyo tagalugin itong last sentence para mas maintindihan
