    The sky is gloomy today

    And she began to cry

    Shedding all the restlessness so profusely

    Making the ground perfectly wet

    The way she cries is pretty

    She loves her nature friends

    Even when she’s down

    Even when she’s pouring out her grief

    How wide is her heart

    With her tears

    Heals the dry plants

    With her tears

    She keeps the fish alive


    Choose Your Way

    The sky is too high to be blocked

    The land is too vast for you to step on its every corner

    Stretched out clearly in front of you

    Dozens of paths are free for you to tread

    You choose to walk straight, it’s okay

    You choose to follow a friend on a branch road, that’s okay

    You choose to stop three steps, that’s okay

    Everything has its time, everything is according to its strength


    Good Person

    And so are you

    We are both humans who still have to learn

    Still too little knowledge of the vastness of the world

    I learned to give from your right hand

    Through the way you love little children

    I learned to receive from your left hand

    When they become the most comfortable place for you

    Doesn’t have to be perfect does it?

    Being good is quite simple

    And you are good person in a simple way

    We should keep them around

    We should fight against the outside culture

    We are like Javanese puppets whose destiny is held by the puppeteer

    We are like a gamelan that voices diversity

    Beautiful kebaya wraps our bodies

    The keris behind you seems ready to defend the truth

    It’s beautiful to live in the peace of a joglo house

    While enjoying wedang ronde when it rains

    How gracefully they dance serimpi

    Softly playing the sampur

    How pretty they are as Javanese women

    And how beautiful it is for Java to have them

    I’m dry, I’m small

    Even a slow wind can break me

    My leaves are eaten by the sun

    My flowers don’t want to show themselves

    Look at me now shapeless

    Take care of me now or never

    If you let me die

    Then I will let you die
