About this ebook

I was lucky to have grown up in the 50ies era. I lived in
a small town, not very far from where Im living now. I never
did like traveling! Born at the end of the year, my dad called
me his good luck baby. Id like some of that luck to strike me
right about now. I have two sisters, one older, one younger,
yes Im the middle child.

I attended Catholic school Saint Michaels, until high
school. It was at St. Mikes that I became fond of poetry. We
memorized many. many poems. That was their way I guess, it
worked. I love to read the work of the great poets still.

From high school to the alter, I married just shy of
eighteen. The Lord was very good to us he gave us three of
his most precious gift s I had a daughter and two sons. They
were then and are now the loves of my life.

Now that Im older I see things through a bigger picture
window, I dont want to come off sounding like my parents
but as I remember it they oft en would say It can only get
worse. Looking now through the glass, I would have to
agree.

    About the Poet

    I dedicate this book

To all the children in the world who need love.

    That would be everyone.

    A note of thanks

If I were to say thanks a thousand times to these two very special people, it wouldn’t be enough. Not only did they fix mistakes but they helped me stay sane. Oh all right: they tried.

A billion times over thank you for all your help Cheryl and Sharda, I could never have done this alone.

    I’ll be forever grateful

    T.S.J.

    A note from the poet

    Sometimes I sound opinionated,

    Over certain things I’ve stated

I try hard not to be

Please don’t hold it against me.

All I want to do is open up some eyes

To a lot of the hardships we would rather deny

It is my hope that we can make it better

You may be right, I could be wrong

Just listen to the lyrics in the song

In the end it’s your decision

I only ask that you open your eyes

So that you too may see the vision

I’m glad that you picked up my book

Sit down, enjoy, take a look

Please read it from cover to cover

    You may soon discover

That you liked what you have read

In that case we can put our differences to bed

If in fact you did like what you read

Then maybe others will buy my book

Maybe then we could work together

    Brave all the stormy weather

Make our world a better place

Where our children can enjoy the human race

    Rhythm in Verse

Dance to the rhythm in this verse

Tell me by its words you are immersed

You will have given me high praise

I’ll be looking for different ways to amaze

I live for the hunger of words set to verse

With each and every poem I nurse

I ponder and I wane until I’m insane

I like it best when with verse, I reign

Some say it’s a gift, others say an art

    Although they both may play
