Khyber was 70 miles away from north of Madinah. Prophet (P.B.U.H) went to Khyber with 1600 MEN
and 200 CAVALRY and laid siege to 20 fortes
First fort name was Al Naim and the only fort left was Al Qamus which was in the center and was
strongest. It was known as Seat of Chief
Ghaftan tribe fought as they were offered yearly produce of fruits and dates. They also had negotiations
with Abdullah Bin Ubbay the leader of Hypocrites. The fight continued 20 days. Prophet (P.B.U.H) gave
command to Hazrat Ali (R.A). Hazrat Ali (R.A) killed Marhab a famous warrior. Jews were forced to
surrender. No one helped them. Muslims left Khyber in the hands of local inhabitants. Of pact was
signed which said half of annual harvest to be paid as jizya including others around Khyber.

Battle of mu’tah
It took place in the year 7 A.H. prophet (P.B.U.H) sent letters all over Arabia inviting kings to embrace
Islam. Hazrat Haris bin Umair was appointed to king of Bursa Ash-sham. When he stopped at Mut’tah he
was killed by Shurahbil Bin Amr Caesars Governor of Ash-Sham. The purpose was to teach Shruabil a
lesson. Prophet (P.B.U.H) assembled 3000 men and appointed Hazrat Zaid bin Harris as their leader.
Prophet (P.B.U.H) knew that opponent was strong so he said if something would happen to Zaid, hazrat
Jafa will take over and if he dies too Hazrat Abdullah should lead. Romans were 100000. All commander
died and leadership was given to Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed the sword of Allah. They retreated but
showed the romans they were no weaker and now a threat to romans.
