Coastal Clean-Up
Dapdap National High School Faculty & Staff participated the Coastal Cleanup to help
the community and to help the earth as well last June 25, 2021, the day after the Feast of Saint
John the Baptist. We have learned so much about pollution and litter choking the oceans and
land through Facebook posts and the lessons we have in different subjects that we handled and
we wanted to help especially to Barangay Dapdap coast line. We picked up mostly hard plastic
fragments, such as plastic wrappers of candy and junk foods, destroyed toys and we’ve seen
bottles of hard liquors left in the sea shore. We learned about caring about our environment. This
would hopefully also reduce the waste on the shore.
If the whole word did a cleanup like what we did, it would impact the earth a lot. We
learned that so many people are willing to come help clean up but needs encouragement and
motivation. This is my firsthand experience - coastal clean-up. I think our efforts were important
because we all worked together to help the community. Hopefully we will be more careful about
our litter from now on. I am proud of my colleagues who were always on the go and willing to
participate this kind of activity.
People littering still ticks me off. However, I can empower myself to do something about
it and so can you. Wherever there is litter, there is an opportunity to set a good example by
picking it up. Pictures took-off during the activity were posted on face book not to gain prestige
and appreciation from other people but to inspire them to make a difference in preserving our
Mother Earth.
In my Philosophy subject in Senior High School, it was stated there that NO MAN IS AN
ISLAND and human Being has a connection to living and non-living things and all the elements
in our environment. Everyone has responsibility in nurturing the nature because what we give to
Mother Nature it comes back either in a good or bad way.

I think that the whole world
benefited from our efforts, because
although that sounds dramatic, we
literally helped make the world a
slightly cleaner place.
