1. Introduction

Ecological footprint is defined as a call for humanity to be conscious of the negative impact that
right now are causing our behaviour and also to measure the amount of earth`s that we might need
to live if we keep having the same behaviour. Now is time to change our minds, because is not
me, who? and it is not now when? Our planet have no time to wait for a change!
2. Ecological Footprint Family Members
My family only have two (2) members:

 My father
 Me

My Father
Name:
Hernán Neptalí Once Condo
Ecological Footprint:
3.4 Earths
Age: 53 years old
My Father
Name:
Diana Estefanía Once Bravo
Ecological Footprint:
2.4 Earths
Age: 19 years old

3. Comparison
Comparison between the members of the family

My father has a footprint of 3,4 earths, but me has only 2,4 earths. That shows a difference of

one earth between us. This huge and enormous difference reveal that my father in some cases is

causing more negative impact in our ecosystem, this maybe could be because he is a taxi driver
as a profession, so the emission of CO2 is higher in his case. On the other hand, I usually prefer

to walk or travel by bus or by bicycle.

Comparison with the population of Ecuador

The footprint of Ecuador is between 2,5 and 3,5 during the last five years this data is changing.

If we compare the average of my family with the common family of Ecuador we can find the

next results:

2,4 Me

3,4 Father

Average= 2,4+3,4=5,8/2=2.9

Finally, my family has an average of 2,9 that is between (2,5:3,5) the range of Ecuador.

4. Plan to reduce

 The First, we need to be conscious of the negative effect that our actions are causing

in our planet. (Bergh, 1999)

 Take the bus in order to take a taxi, because in the bus can travel more people in one

travel or journey
 Reduce the amount of meat that

you eat, instead of try to search

different options that are healthier

for you and for the planet

 Always remember to unplug

every single electronic device that

are not in use. (Wackernage,

1998)

 Make the best of us looking for

different ways to go to your

school, house or work, such as:

taking the bus, riding a bicycle

or walking.

 Promote in your house plant

some greens, like trees to have

shade and also it gives to birds

a new habitat. (Wackernagel,

1997)
