Water security activity.

Water is the basis of life.

1) Selection of activity:
The activity that I am working on today is water the basis of life. I am
really looking forward to complete this activity as well as to gain
more knowledge about water in general. Oceans have peaked my
interest since I was a child and now I am working on something very
closely related to oceans.

2) Introduction:
Water makes up roughly 60% of our bodies, and we can only survive
for three to five days without it. Water performs numerous
important functions in the body, including waste removal,
temperature regulation, nutrient transport, and digestion. The word
"water" comes from the Old English word wæter or from the Proto-
Germanic watar or German Wasser. All of these words mean "water"
or "wet."
Water is said to be one of the earth's most essential resources and
rightly so. Human beings can survive without food for many weeks,
but without water, one will die in just a few days. The earth's
uniqueness lies in the fact that it harbours life and it has water on its
surface.

3) Frame work / Planning

Time spent : 2 hrs

Expenditure: 15 rs

Stationary : pen pencil eraser sharpener scale etc.

4) Procedure:
Water plays an impotent role in the field of agriculture. Irrigation is
possible with the help of water. Water is useful for various domestic
uses like washing clothes, bathing, cooking, etc. Water is helping for
balancing the ecosystem. Also, it is useful in many industries like the
steel industry, fertilizers, chemicals, cement, paper, etc. Through water,
we are also generating electricity. Water is an essential source of fish,
wildlife, and recreation. A human can live without food for some days
but cannot live without water.

While water is essential to all living things, humans have been using it
for multiple purposes and it is of utmost significance to us. In other
words, it is the most essential element to keep our bodies healthy and
organs in good shape. We don’t only need it for drinking but also to
regulate the temperature of our bodies. Furthermore, the agricultural
field requires a lot of water. It is needed to produce crops and irrigate
the fields so crops can grow successfully. After that, we have water as a
mode of transport for passengers and goods.

In addition, it is also an important source of electricity. We need water

for hydroelectric power generation. Further, we also need it in our daily
lives from bathing to cooking to the toilet. Even our gardens need
water, for instance, the small fountains and more.Water is good for
healthy skin and it helps to flush out toxins from our bodies. Sports like
swimming and more require water. In fact, the water parks and more
also need water. Water is essential to life, and it plays an important
role in the sustainability of communities, businesses, and cultures. Its
presence draws and sustains, whilst its absence disperses and
condemns. Communities must have sources and systems that fulfil
quantity and qualitative demands for drinking, sanitising, producing,
and firefighting, or they will perish. Water is also essential for the
continuing operation of other critical infrastructures such as electricity.

5) Conclusion and inferences:

At last I would like to say that water is an essentially important factor of

our life, infact water ‘is’ our life. Without water life on earth would
have been next to impossible. Without water we wouldn’t be able to
grow crops and therefore reduce the production of food in the world.
Without water we cant even generate electricity, which in todays
generation is one of the most important things.

6) Personal opinion:
I personally enjoyed a lot working on this activity. I gained a lot of
knowledge while making this activity. Although I did know a lot of the
information in this activity due to previous grades, still online sites
really helped a lot.

7) Reference note.

Most of the information in this activity was collected through online

sites like Wikipedia.
