General Information of the activity

Objective: To design an assessment tool according to the students needs.
Topic of the activity: Unit 5 Assessment
Description:
You teach Language Arts (English) in 7th grade. In this class, there are 2 students with
special needs: Alberto who has dysgraphia and, Susana who has severe sight
problems. Both children are very smart and responsible; however, due to their
conditions they have always had accommodations to class activities and
assessments.
You have already finished unit 5 of the text you use (see link) and, following the
school’s active methodologies, you have to design a summative alternative
assessment.
Your coordinator has asked you to present your proposal for the assessment stating
the following:
Purpose (what students are expected to achieve)
Skills and content to be evaluated
Process (what students will have to do in order to present the final product)
Final product (what students will present)
Grading tool (rubric or checklist)

*** Apart from presenting your assessment tool, you will also write an introduction
(1 page) where you will give information about your choice of assessment and any
relevant information you think it might be important for the reader to know before
checking your work.
