TYPES OF SUBSTATION
1. INDOOR SUBSTATION
2. OUTDOOR SUBSTATION
3. POLE MOUNTED SUBSTATION
1. INDOOR
SUBSTATION:- The
substation which is
situated inside a
building called indoor
substation. These
substations are of low
power.
OUTDOOR
SUBSTATION:- The
substations which are
installed in an open
place under the sky.

ON SUBSTATIONS
KEY DIAGRAM
EQUIPMENTS OF SUBSTATION
a). BUS BAR :- In
electrical power
distribution, a busbar
is a strip or bar of
copper, brass or
aluminium that
conducts electricity
within a switchboard,
distribution board,
substation, battery
bank, or other
electrical apparatus.
CT & PT :- A current
transformer (CT) is
used for measurement
of alternating electric
currents. Current
transformers, together
with voltage (or
potential) transformers
(VT or PT), are known
as instrument
transformers.
ISOLATOR:- It is a
manually operated
mechanical switch
which break the
electrical circuit under
no load conditions.
CIRCUIT BREAKER:-
.It is automatically operated switch which breakes the
electrical circuit.
.It can operate on both coditions "No Load" & "Full
Load".
TRANSFORMER:- It is
a static electrical
device which transfer
the electrical power
from one circuit to
another by changing
voltage level without
changing frequency.
CONTROL PANEL:- It
is the essential part of
a substation which
controls the whole
activity of a substation
from input to output
like tripping,
measurements etc.
POWER BANK:- It is
used to supply DC
power to different
small equipments
used in control panel
like protective relays
etc.
