4. Search for related literature that you can use to define the main variables of your

study. Collect at least 3 references for variable. Write down the definition.

Academic Performance

teacher, or institution's completion of educational benchmarks which is an academic

achievement whether it be a short or long-term educational goal.

Factors Affecting Academic Performance

a) It has been stated by many researchers that there are different factors that affect the

academic performance of students which are categorized in two factors namely internal

factors and external factors (Irfan Mushtaq & Shabana Nawaz Khan, 2012).

performance. Global journal of management and business research, 12(9), 17-22.

b) School environment is an important variable that have to be studied as it affects and

enhance the academic performance of the students. This includes the classroom, the

location of the school, the technologies available, climate, among others affect the

academic performance of the students.

influence on students’ academic performance in secondary school. International journal

of fundamental Psychology and Social Sciences, 6(1), 10-14.

c) The home environment is considered a powerful influence on the child. A home

environment is viewed as consequential for child developmental outcomes such as

cognitive ability, school readiness, academic achievement and emotional adjustment

(Fantuzzo el al., 2000)

5. Determine the seriousness of your research problem. Show statistical evidence of

its gravity. Give the complete details of the references.

In the Philippines, almost 1/5 of the population is living below the poverty line.

This study will help to improve the lives of poor people. It has the potential to improve

the life of anyone involved in business. It is for this reason that this study is worth serious

attention.

[Revised] In the Philippines, around 19.99 million Filipinos are living below the

poverty line (Philippine Statistic Authority, 2022). This means that almost 1/5 of the

population is incapable of meeting their basic food and non-food needs. Consequently,

this study is conducted to help improve the lives of poor people. It has the potential to

improve the life of anyone involved in business.

Activity 9 – THEORETICAL AND CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

Theory Title: Tinto Model of Retention

Theorist: Dr. Vincent Tinto

Theory Statement: The “Tinto Model of Retention” posits that all students come to

college and university with a lifetime of prior experiences; and these experiences
shape how students experience the array of different communities at our educational

institutions.

Theory Explanation: An individual’s past experiences are the framework that allows

them to effectively utilize new information.

Theory’s Relationship to the Present Study: This effects the study in its entirety.

According to this theory, a good grasp of entrepreneurship will enable a proper

framework which will expedite future learning.

Explanation of the Paradigm

The figure above represents the input and the process it has to undergo in order to attain

the desired output. The demographic profile of the respondents including age, gender,

grade level, and strand, and the different factors affecting their academic performance

gathered and analyzed through a questionnaire and will be statistically treated. Based on

the survey data which were administered through the use of questionnaires, the following

conceptual framework has been formulated to determine the influence of different factors

on the academic performance of Senior High School students and their Academic

Performance in the entrepreneurial subject.
