    Anent to the references 1s cited above, proposals for surplus weir design
    of kurumurthyraya reservoir to dispose off the MFD from self catchment of
    kurumurthyraya reservoir, Venkatadri reservoir and link canals spread area have
    been furnished to this office as detailed below

    On examining the proposals, the Chief Engineer (Irrigation).


    Mahaboobnagar, was intimated to utilize the oftake sluice (Design discharge
    256.190 cumecs) to be constructed in Kurumurthyraya reservoir to dispose off
    flood discharge from self catchment area vide reference 2d cited and the balance
    MFD of 116.90 cumecs may be dispose off by selecting a suitable selection along
    link canal or any feasible location along the bund alignment.

    Through reference 3rd cited, the Chief Engineer (irrigation).


    Mahabubnagar, has informed this office that he has requested for joint inspection
    for the above proposals but the CE, Nagarkurnool in turn replied to finalise the
    weir proposal at his end in consultation with CE, CDO, Hyderabad. In this
    connection, it is informed that there is no provision for surplus arrangements in

    Venkatadri reservoir to dispose off the flood arising from spread area of the
    Venkatadri reservoir and its link canal. Hence, it is requested to examine the need

    for surplus proposals from the spread area.

    Hence, it is requested to examine the above and furnish the suitable

    proposals accordingly.
