Detailed Lesson Plan in Math 3
I. OBJECTIVES
- At the end of the lesson the learners should able to:
1. Understand what is probability.
2. Applying probability in real-life situations using the phases “sure to
happen”, “likely to happen”, “equally likely to happen”, “unlikely to
happen”, and “impossible to happen”.
3. Appreciate the importance of probability in our daily lives.
A. Content Standard
- The learners demonstrates understanding of bar graphs and outcomes of an
events using the terms sure, likely, equally likely, unlikely, and impossible to
happen.
B. Performance Standard
- The learners is able to create and interpret simple representations of data
(table and single bar graphs) and describes outcomes of familiar events using
the terms sure, likely, equally likely, unlikely, and impossible to happen.
C. Learning Competencies
- The learner tells whether an event is sure, likely, equally likely, unlikely, and
impossible to happen.

III. PROCEDURE
What else?
The two types of bar graphs Ma’am.
Yes Mark?
(Pupils will follow)
Great job! Let’s give Mark an AMAZING
clap.
Group 1
Group 2
Group 3
Chances Ma’am.
Yes James?
Awesome James!
(Pupils will raise their hands)
Other ideal. About probability Ma’am.
Yes Alex?
Exactly. Very good Alex!
D. Presenting examples or
instances of the new lesson
Today, we will discuss the probability.
At the end of our discussion, you should
be able to:
1. Understand what is probability;
2. Applying probability in real-life
situations using the phases “sure to
happen”, “likely to happen”, “equally
likely to happen”, “unlikely to happen”,
and “impossible to happen”; and
3. Appreciate the importance of
probability in our daily lives.
Yes, Ma’am.
Are you excited to learn?
Hooray! Choices Ma’am.
What else?
(Pupils will follow)
Absolutely, great job!
Let’s give both of them a 5 million clap.
Some events are sure to happen, while It has different colors Ma’am.
other events are impossible to happen.
A numbers Ma’am.
What do you see on this wheel?
Great!
What else?
Awesome!
Example: 3.

Yes Alex?
Exactly!
Let’s give Alex a 5 million clap.
Yes Ma’am.
When we say probability, it gives the
likelihood that a defined event will occur.
Very good!
Do you think there is a chance that it will
It is impossible to happen Ma’am.
rain?
Great job everyone!
G. Making Generalization and
Abstraction about the Lesson
Now, let’s recall what we have discussed
today.
In your own understanding what is
probability?
It is a chance that an event or events will
Yes, Marian?
happen Ma’am.
Very good!
Awesome!
Very good!
Great job everyone!
Give yourselves a 5 million clap. (Pupils will follow)
H. Evaluation
Direction: Describe the probability of
each event. Write S on the line if it is
sure to happen, L if it is likely to
happen, EL if it is equally likely to
happen, U if it is unlikely to happen,
and I if it is impossible to happen.
Answer it in ¼ sheet of paper.
1. picking a mangosteen.
2. Picking a red apple.
3. Picking a green apple or
an orange.
4. Picking a fruit.
5. Picking a guava.
I. Assignment
For your assignment, answer the
following question and tell the probability
of an event and describe if it is sure,
likely, unlikely, and impossible to happen.
Write it in your assignment notebook.
1.
What is the probability that a
man will give birth?
2.
Goodbye class.
Goodbye Ma’am.
