Activity:

Instructions: Briefly answer and discuss the following:

1. “REAL Talk”: 10 points

a. What are the issues that cause moral friction between Millennials/Filinnials and their parents?
Parents and older generations may believe that the millennial age is careless and merely wants
to laugh playing video games and watching television and millennials believe they can do things properly
because they have more advancement an d current approaches than previous generations. I believe
there have always been conflicts and disagreements in households between parents or older
generations and millennials. The baby boomer and generation Y generations are distinct in that they
have experienced contrasting conditions and occurrences. Children's interests and hobbies differ from
those of their elders as they get older. Much of it is natural, the result of young people growing more
self-sufficient. That experience of freedom and curiosity is exciting for the younger generation, who
perceive themselves as moving away from parental authority, but it is frightening for parents, who
perceive themselves as losing influence on children and unable to keep a watchful check on them.
b. How should you /we resolve the friction? Who is right?
On the other hand, adults make decisions; it is not their parents' obligation to dictate what
other adults should do. A parent must acknowledge that their child is an adult and simply let them go at
a certain point. Failure to do so will result in their child becoming crippled. Some parents make decisions
for their children; for example, some may choose for their children's careers, taking up occupations such
as engineer, doctor, and lawyer because they believe they are good for them. Reasons include the fact
that in the past, parents made decisions for their children, such as arranging marriages, which do not
apply today. We all come from various backgrounds, and we can't criticize the millennials for acting the
way they do because time is changing, exposing us to new ways and moving us away from conventional
ways, which has both positive and negative consequences. The same is true for parents, who want to
instill in their children the moral values they have acquired and experienced throughout their lives
because they know it is good for them, which the millennials do not comprehend.

2. Individual case study: How do I respond to the challenges of globalization and the
differences of mindsets caused by differing generational relations to technology and social
media? (10 points)

We cannot deny that GLOBALIZATION has increased globally. Because it has an impact on the
process of integrating international economic forces into various cultures around the world.

With this, how may GLOBALIZATION differ in light of varied technological and social media mindsets? It
is obvious that as our technology evolves, certain advances and methodologies effect globalization, such
as the following;
Internet- Although it has no technological impact on our thinking, it has served as a conduit for the
transmission of culture and art through the use of various platforms such as social media.

Electronic devices such as cell phones, which have served as a means for individuals to communicate
with various applications such as Facebook.

We are being challenged to portray our duties in dealing with GLOBALIZATION in terms of technology
and social media because it has had a significant impact on how people think, behave, and react. How
we handle and use technology and social media in our daily lives has an impact on our mentality.
