IV. PROCEDURES

A. Introduction What I need to know


Classifying is arranging or sorting things according to their similarities
and characteristics.

An analogy is a comparison of two things that may have similar or


opposite characteristics or features. A relationship may be noted when
one word is a part and the other is a whole. This module was designed
and written with you in mind. It is here to help you to get the meaning
of word through word association (analogy) and classification. The
scope of this module permits it to be used in many different learning
situations. The language used recognizes the diverse vocabulary level
of students. The lessons are arranged to follow the standard sequence
of the course. But the order in which you read them can be changed to
correspond with the textbook you are now using.

This lesson is focused in:

Getting the meaning of words through word association (analogy) and


classification

After going through this module, you are expected to:


1. Build vocabulary through word associations (Analogy)
2. Use word classification
3. Classify related words, ideas and concept according to certain
characteristics and similar.
What’s New

Classifying and sorting is the act of placing things that are same or
similar in a category. Grouping them requires having especial or same
quality, characteristic, trait and attribute.
