Background
GEnx on-wing measurement of OGV forward rail thickness
• Provide for repeatable/accurate measurement of OGV forward rail thickness
• Determine engine CIS per measured OGV forward rail thickness
• Record multiple independent measurements to determine most accurate OGV forward rail
thickness
• Support leading indicator data gathering for each OGV configuration

Assembly instructions
• Select appropriate guide tube diameter for flex borescope to be used (4mm or 6mm)
• Insert guide tube until it stops as shown (design provides for guide tube placement in proper position)
• Tighten guide tube into mount plate on each side using 3mm Allen wrench (provided)
• Secure mount plate to bleed port with (4) provided screws using 5/16” Allen wrench (not provided)

On-wing measurement improvements
Borescope positioning
• Place guide tube fixture at same location as drill fixture – orient
forward and aft as indicated on mount plate
• Insert flex borescope here – borescope will bottom out inside guide
tube for consistent positioning
Flex scope

Measurement of OGV forward rail thickness
Measuring and recording OGV forward rail thickness
• After guide tube installation, insert appropriate flex borescope until it bottoms out in the tube
• Take measurement, then remove and reinstall borescope to obtain 5 individual readings
• Discard high and low measurements, average remaining (3) readings to obtain average thickness
