Poem: Autumn by Joseph T. Renaldi

SHORT SUMMARY

The poet believes that autumn is approaching as the leaves

are falling, the flowers have started wilting and attract no butterflies.
The sky looks hazy.

The orchard trees are fruitless and the branches are bare. It seems as some magic spell has turned them
lifeless. The bears are collecting honey.

The birds stop singing as they can sense the onset of autumn chill and get ready to fly to the nearby hill.

The hairy caterpillars crawl on the boarded well and squirrels run across the ground to collect hickory nuts.

The breeze blows through the countless trees and scatters the leaves very easily as they are dry and light.

The leaves whirl and fall on the ground and find a comfortable place to rest.

The leaves lie on the ground and wait for the snow to fall and get covered by snow.
