Dear PT Cagar Bentara Sakti Team

First of all, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Ardi Ardiansyah, I am a bachelor of engineering
majoring in Ocean Engineering from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Surabaya. Currently I reside
in Depok City and fully Working from Home (Company HO is located in Jakarta)

I have a huge interest in renewable energy since I was at college, I dedicated much of my time during my
first and second year of college to be involved in PKM (Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa) which was held
by Ministry of Research and Technology. The PKM program challenges student to create a product,
concept, or research in whatever area including but not limited to: renewable energy, which later the
successful student will get funded to make their idea comes true. Two of my proposal was funded, the
proposal is sharing similar topic which is renewable energy but having difference concept, the proposal
comprise of:

1. Wave Energy Converter, located in shoreline area (the turbine is rotating due to air flow on the
tunnel, thanks to the oscillating water column/surface which cause pressure difference and
generate air flow)
2. Wave Energy Converter, located in shallow water area (the turbine is rotating due to air flow on
the tunnel, thanks to the oscillating water column/surface which cause pressure difference and
generate air flow)

After graduated from university, I found it was not easy for an Ocean Engineering graduate to work in
the field of renewable energy, since the renewable energy in ocean area is still not developed yet,
especially in Indonesia. Hence I started to work in the field of oil and gas industry, in one of the biggest
offshore EPCI company, I spent two years of my early career in Detail Design Engineering of Subsea
Pipeline, Umbilical (which is used for Floating Offshore Wind as well), Anchoring & Mooring Design for
Floating Structure (also used for Floating Offshore Wind)

On the third year, I got exposure about Floating Solar PV, my first insight about Floating Solar PV was
about Cirata Floating Solar Farm, which was believed to be the biggest of its kind in the near future.
Afterward I noticed that this kind of renewable energy is matched my background and experience,
because Floating Solar PV is obviously constructed above water, and it requires mounting system to
keep the Floating Plant on its position during its service lifetime.

I started to look for the company involved in the Floating Solar PV engineering consultancy, and I found
Ciel & Terre and Sungrow, a company from France and China, both are the pioneer of its kind. Shortly, I
sent application letter to Ciel & Terre and got accepted. My journey in renewable energy starts from
here at least. Here is some of my project during my working time at Ciel & Terre International:

1. Cirata Dam 145 MWac Floating PV Plant (Indonesia). I was intensively involved during bid stage.
My responsibility was including but not limited to:
 Floating plant sizing and location study, floater configuration study (2 in a row)
 Preliminary design for floating plant mounting system
 To prepare detailed Bill of Quantity and Bill of Material
 TKDN calculation for mooring appliances, master-batch material, PV panel fixing system
 Interface to the client for technical related issue
 Interface to subcontractor for geotechnical, transportation and installation, TKDN
calculation works
 Interface to vendor for mounting system appliances and PV panel fixing system
2. Inamura Dam 1 MWac Floating PV Plant (Japan). I was acting as Project Engineer Design and my
responsibility was including but not limited to:
 Floating plant sizing and location selection, floater configuration selection (2 in a row)
 Detailed design for floating plant mounting system
 Mounting system appliances selection to suit soil condition
 To prepare detailed Bill of Quantity and Bill of Material
 Interface to client for technical matters and working progress

3. Los Osos Industrial Pond 1 MWac Floating PV Plant (USA). My responsibility was including but
not limited to:
 Floating plant sizing and location selection, floater configuration selection (2 in a row)
 Detailed design for floating plant mounting system

4. Research and Development of New Floating and Mounting System. I was deeply involved in
research and development team together with Ciel & Terre team in France. I am a specialist in
marine engineering, hence I was responsible to develop a representative finite element model
of Floating PV system on finite element solver, this can be achieved by calibrating finite element
model with the result from site test in France. I was involved in numbers of R&D project as
follow:
 Bow and Arrow Mounting system, the product is expected to be used in a water body
with huge water level difference (in dam water body for instance)
 External Flexible Superstructure Mounting System, the product is expected to be used in
a quarry lake water body
 HV5 Floater Structure, the product is made of HDPE pipe, this system is expected to
replace floater system made of HDPE molded floater (to reduce CAPEX)
 Fusio Floating System Configuration, the product is expected to be used in nearshore
area (in seawater with low wave height)

After intensively involved in Cirata Floating PV bid for about one year, Ciel & Terre International was
officially eliminated from the project, hence all team member in Indonesia was laid off, and I returned
back to oil and gas Industry.

Recently, I found CBS Linkedin post (Link to Post) with regard to opening position for the position of
Renewable Energy Specialist with minimum degree required is master degree in the field of Renewable
Energy or relevant. I found this requirement is out of my current capacity, hence what I would like to
offer is my experience working in the field of Floating Solar PV industry which is currently growing
rapidly in the market. One of completed Floating PV project in Indonesia is located in Kelanis Site with
capacity of 467 kWp operated by PT Adaro Energy, the ongoing large Floating PV project is Cirata
145MWac in Purwakarta from PT PMSE (PJB – Masdar), and Karangkates 100MWac in Malang from PT
PJB, others large Floating PV project are following to the list which are Saguling Floating PV in Bandung
and Singkarak Floating PV in Solok from PLN and ACWA Power.

If PT CBS (Cagar Bentara Sakti) is interested to be one of key player for the Floating Solar PV engineering
consultancy, which is currently rapidly growing in the market, then I would love to support and be part
of the team.

Thank you.
