    Imaging and Design for the Online Environment
    INTRODUCTION
    Imaging and Design for Online Environment is an online graphics and layouts that taught me
    many effective things in order for me to use image design and its advantages. In this lesson I had
    learned the basic principles of graphics and layouts. It has balance, emphasis, movement, pattern,
    repetition and rhythm, proportions, and variety
    Performance Standard (Objectives)
    After going through this module, you are expected to:
    1. identify the different principles and basic techniques of image manipulation;
    2. create a logo using different kinds of editing application.
    Principles and Basic Techniques of Image Manipulation
    Whether you are using a free image manipulation program or purchased one, there are basic
    techniques common to all image editing programs.
    1. Cropping – It is a process of removing unwanted parts of the image, focusing only on the
    subject. When cropping, one must always follow the Rule of Thirds to organize the image
    composition.
    2. Color Balance – In any image manipulating program, this command will allow you to make
    changes in the mixture of colors in an image.
    3. Adjusting Brightness and Contrast – This command is the most basic technique when adjusting
    the image tone (highlights, shadows, and midtones).
    4. Compression and Resizing – Compressing and Resizing an image is an important aspect in
    image manipulation. Images to be uploaded on the web must be pf the standard resolution of 72
    dpi (dots per inch) to maintain its image file size of 30-50 KB. If the image is for printing, set the
    maximum resolution to 300 dpi at set its physic al printing size in inches.
    5. Color Blending – Use the different special effects buttons available in the different image editing
    software. You can combine colors and commands that will give you a more dynamic image result.
    6. Combining Multiple Images – Compositions must be pl
    7. anned and conceptualized first so that you will be able to render the best image and message
    possible.
    PERFORMANCE TASK 1: LOGO MAKING
    The Bread and Butter Company will launch a new delicacies of their company along with the
    celebration of their anniversary, they had different activities such as Logo Making. The goal of
    their activity is to give an opportunity of their emplyoyees to share their talents. You are an artist
    and your team want you to participate in logo making , you need to create a unique and own
    style of logo in your company using different kind of editing application like Canva, Picsart,
    Microsoft word and etc. The graphic designer of your company will be the one who will evaluate
    your work base on the following criteria; Logo Design/ Level of Difficulty,Graphics,Overall Quality
    of Memo Pad Layout and Creativity / Originality.
