Enter the reference value for the LED and confirm with the Enter key. The LED will have the necessary
brightness. The receiving signal of the photo transistor will be displayed.
By pressing the Enter key the parameters for the next channel can be entered.
In this function the reference value for the LED is not a fixed lamp voltage.
It is rather a PWM • signal.
The lamp intensity canNOT be regulated with this test.
The photo transistor signal depends on the instrument. There may be deviations between left and right channel.

Enter the reference motor revolution value and confirm with Enter. The motor will turn accordingly. The
receiving signal of the IR reflecting light barrier will display the revolutions.
By pressing the Enter key you can change to the next channel.
The revolution reference value is a fixed frequency signal. The motor revolutions are analogous to the revolution
reference value. In the range between 200 to 500 rpm the deviation between reference value and actual value may
be ±10 rpm.
You can leave this function by pressing the ESC key once.
The motors continue functioning.

Here you can check the heating and the temperature sensor.
When you start the test the heating is turned off which means 0% performance.
Enter a value between 1 and 100% and the heating will be switched on by checking the pulse-pause relation.
If you want to check whether the temperature sensor and the heating work read the NTC value. If this value falls
while the thermal block temperature rises the heating is switched on.
Important:
In this mode it is possible to heat the thermal block up to 70°C.
Before leaving this function put the heating back to 0% that means switch it off.

Here you can calibrate the thermal block. Several measuring devices have to be prepared.
1. Measuring devices
2-channel thermometer
Testo 901
Dipping- / Piercing sensor TE Typ K
Probe tube 110x4mm
Adaptor for TE pair Type K
2. Preparation
- Fill 400 µl Aqua-Bidest into the lower cuvette well on the right side of the incubation block so
that 2/3 is filled.
- Put the dipping sensor into this well.
Calibration
1. Wait until the temperature has stabilized to 37.4 on the internal display.
2. Read the actual temperature of the thermal block from the digital multimeter and enter via the
keyboard numbers.
It will be displayed in the external field automatically.
The decimal point can be entered by pressing the „>„ key.
Press Enter to confirm. The calibration value will be set in the analyzer
automatically and will be displayed in the internal line.
3. Wait again until the temperature has stabilized to 37,4 in the internal line.
The displayed ntc value will show you whether the instrument heats up or cools off in order
to reach 37,4°C.
Rising values mean 'cool off', falling values mean 'heat'.
4. If the value in the internal line has stabilized to 37,4 it must be compared to the
digital multimeter. If the values deviate repeat this procedure from item 2above.
If both values are identical finish calibration and save by pressing the ESC key.

2. After being switched on the following text is displayed if the thermal block is „cold“:
If the thermal block does not warm up the heating does not function correctly.
2a. After being switched on the following text is displayed if the thermal block is „cold“:
If the actual temperature at the thermal block is equal or less than 37,4°C, there is an error
in the measuring circuit of the thermal block heating.
For maintenance works at the heating and the heating sensor see chapter„heating-test“ in the service menu.

5. Is the main board supplied with the correct voltages from the power supply?
Measure at the input pin strap of the main board. The pin assignment of the main board can be found
in chapter „pin assignment“.
Make sure that the plugs of the power cable have been connected correctly. If necessary exchange the
power cable.

3. There are no paper rests in the printer which might block it.
Try to remove the paper rests from the printer. If necessary, demount the printer board from the
analyzer. Remove the paper rests or exchange the printer board.
If the printer cannot be activated despite of the above measures there must be a hardware error.
Use the following steps to detect it:
If the above steps have not solved the problem exchange the printer board first, then the main board.

The following basic conditions must be fulfilled before checking the internal clock module.
The date and time can be entered correctly. Exit the Utilities menu and switch the instrument off. Wait
a few seconds and switch the instrument on again. Check the date and time again. Do they show the
actual time?
Exchange the main board.

No display
The following basic conditions must be fulfilled before checking the display
6. Is the cable connection from the card reading board to the display undamaged?
Exchange the display.
6. Is the cable connection from the main board to the card reading board undamaged?
Exchange the cable.
If the above measures have not been successful exchange the display first, then the main board.

2. Put a cuvette with a mixer each filled with 200 µl aqua bidest in all measuring channels.
3. Check the function of the mixers as described in the service menu under „mixer-test“
3b. If the mixers do not turn despite of the motors being switched on the error is probably in the motor
control.
The error is in the electronic field. Exchange first the driver board, the first or second measuring
module and then the main board.
5. Is the main board supplied with the correct voltage from the power supply?
Measure at the input pin strap of the main board. The pin assignment of the power supply can be found in
chapter „pin assignment“.
Make sure that the plugs of the power cable have been plugged in correctly.
Exchange the power cable if necessary.

3. Check the stirring function as described under „stirrer-motor-test“ in the service menu.
9. Demount the thermal block, see chapter „Demounting the thermal block“
12. Does the driver board detect the stirrer motor signals correctly?
Measure at the input pin strap of the driver board. The pin assignment of the driver board can be found in
