b) UCM6300 Series
The device is on DHCP mode by default. If you have a DHCP server in your network, you
can just check the IP Address of the UCM by Clicking the Settings Button and look for the
LAN IP.
If you don’t have a DHCP server in your network, then you have to change the LAN into
Static.
To change to static, go to Settings > Network Menu > LAN Mode > Static
After changing the IP into Static, the default IP will be 192.168.0160. You may also check
this by Clicking the Settings Button and look for the LAN IP.
2. Make sure that your Laptop/PC is in the same network segment as the UCM.
If there is no DHCP Server enabled, you’ll have to configure the Static IP Address of your
Laptop/PC.
You may check the connectivity using PING in command prompt.
3. Open your Web Browser and type in https://(ip address of the UCM):8089
Examples: https://192.168.2.1:8089
https://192.168.0.160:8089
1. Route Mode
When the UCM630X has the method set to Route in network settings, WAN port interface
is used for uplink connection and LAN port interface is used as a router. The DHCP Server
for the LAN Port will also be available.
2. Switch Mode
Both the LAN and WAN Ports of the UCM will have the same IP Address.
For example, WAN port interface is used for uplink connection; LAN port interface is used
as a room for direct PC connection.
3. Dual Mode
Both WAN port and LAN port are used for the uplink connection. Users will need to assign
LAN 1 or LAN 2 as the default interface in option “Default Interface” and configure
“Gateway IP” if static IP is used for this interface.
Extension Range
By default, the UCM Series has a User Extension Range of 1000-6299 which means users
can only use Extension / Local numbers that are within the range. If users want to use
Extension numbers that are outside the range, they can either change the extension range or
disable the extension range.
1. You can do this by going to PBX Settings > General Settings > General Settings
2. Check the checkbox as shown in the image below.
3. Click Save and Apply Changes
7. Click “Save” button to have the UCM6XXX series generate the extensions.
8. Next, a prompt will appear asking “Are you sure you want to create users: 1001, 1002,
1003, 1004 1005”. Click “OK”.
This "Permission/Privilege" option restricts whether this extension could be used to make
desired outgoing calls.
The extension needs to be assigned with higher level (or equal level) permission/privilege
compared to the outbound rule's privilege in order to make outbound calls with that rule.
Strip Function
Strip allows the user to specify the number of digits that will be stripped from the beginning of
the dialed string before the call is placed via the selected trunk.
1. Scenario 1: “Dial 9 first to call outside”
Pattern: _9xxxxxxxx
Strip: 1
Prepend specifies the digits to be prepended or added before the call is placed via the trunk.
Those digits will be prepended after the dialing number is stripped.
2. Scenario 2: “FXO Gateway requires 992 to specifically use Analog Trunk #2”
Pattern: _xxxxxxxx
Prepend: 992
3. Scenario 3: “FXO Gateway requires 993 to specifically use Analog Trunk #3”
Pattern: _898xxxxxxxxxxx
Prepend: 993
1. Check the IP Address of the IP Phone by pressing the Arrow Up Button and look for IPv4.
2. Input the IP Address in a new tab in your Browser.
3. Username is admin
4. Unique Password is on the back sticker of the IP Phone.
It will also pop up in the IP Phone’s LCD when you type in the username.
