    UNDERSTANDING THE SELF 

    Understanding the Self, is a necessary course that the Commission on Higher Education
    (CHED) has added to the new General Education Curriculum. It aims to explore the
    issues and concerns regarding the self and identity to have more understanding of one’s
    self. However, understanding the self goes beyond knowing your density It is more than
    just being aware of who or what you are. This course warrants the discovery of
    information about yourself with respect to various perspectives. Furthermore, this
    course aims to generate a new appreciation for the learning process and develop a
    more critical and reflective attitude while enabling its students to manage and improve
    themselves to attain a better-quality time. 

    This course is very important as it helps in attaining the graduate attributes of a


    students the Technical Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P) with the help of the task given
    in this course such as essays, discussions and etc. I was able to enhance my
    communication skills, I see myself becoming more comfortable in using English as the
    primary language when doing such tasks. 

    The first chapter enables the students to understand the construct of the self from
    various disciple perspectives: philosophy, sociology, anthropology, and psychology
    including the more traditional division between the East and the Weast. 

    he second chapter deals with some of the various aspects that make up the self like the
    biological self, the material self, the spiritual self, the political self, and the digital self.
    The third and final chapter provides a discussion on some issues or concerns for young
    students these days, which are learning, goal setting, and stress. 

    This subject provides opportunities for students to gain new skills for practical
    application of the concepts learned that aim to help them become better and significant
    individuals of our society. 

    Propelled by a deep sense of mission to empower the Filipino youth, the authors
    embarked on writing this book as a humble contribution in building a great nation.

    Before researching possible career moves it is useful to spent time understanding
    yourself, Including your capabilities, expertise and personal values. Being self-aware can
    help you to plan development and make career decisions that are for you. It's important
    to know what you want your career, what gives you fulfilment and the type of
    environment or work cultures you will thrive in. This can help you target the type of
    provisional development opportunities that will benefit you the most. 

    Understanding your personality type can often provide the key to recognizing why you
    have tendencies to act or react in a certain way and help identity the types of work
    environment you thrive in. There are the number of tools widely used including the
    Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Access to touch tools may be provided by your institution
    or careers service. 

    Identifying the most effective way you learn can inform the type of training or
    development you could undertake in order to develop particular capability. There are a
    number of tools which could help your identity your own learning style Questionnaire.
