ABSTRACT
"Stress" has been dubbed the "Health Epidemic of the 21st Century" by the
World Health Organization (2016). This pandemic turned out to be a stressor to people
due to many reasons according to Philippine Statistics Authority. Hence, this study

highest COVID19 cases in Ilocos Norte from May 21 to May 26, 2021.
The researchers utilized the descriptive research design to determine the profile
of the respondents, their level of knowledge on positive coping mechanisms, and the
common practices of the respondents on stress coping among the 197 community
people within the age limit of 21 – 59 years old of any gender, as determined by
Slovin’s formula.
The research questionnaire served as the instrument for collecting data through
the Google form platform. The data that was gathered was tabulated and analyzed.
The categories have been ranked and counted through descriptive statistics like
frequency count and rank distribution. To which they perceived “Watching movies and
entertaining comedies” as the top stress coping mechanism, and to which they
correspondingly practice.
