    NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE TURNOVER OF DOST STARBOOKS

    The Department of Science and Technology is known not only as a


    government agency that develops and improves both fields of science and
    technology but also promotes quality education through providing scholarship
    grants and innovating and providing various teaching and learning materials that
    would be of great help for the students as well as the teachers.

    The Restituto B. Peria National High School hosted and served as one of the
    recipients of “Turnover of DOST Starbooks” last February 02, 2022, which was
    attended by DOST itself, the school principals of the other three recipient schools
    namely Sir Ghandie Cardenas of Tabacao National High School, Sir Pator G.
    Balintag, Jr. of Vicente R. Bumanlag Sr. National High School, and Angelita Dela
    Fuente of Zaragosa National High School and other local officials.

    The program began with the earnest prayer graced by Ma’am Lodeline
    Legamia, Master Teacher I – Mathematics followed by the warm and sincere
    welcome address of Ma’am Belinda M. Baldedara, RBPNHS Principal II.

    Ma’am Rowena V. Grope, Public Schools District Supervisor, rendered her


    message and extended her heartfelt gratitude to the DOST for its tremendous and
    continuous support to hone the full potentials of the students through pulling off
    various programs like donating “Starboks” even at this time of the pandemic.

    The smooth flow of the program was then followed by Mayor Angelo David
    “Gelo” R. Vargas as he gave his quick yet profound message accentuating that
    nothing can hinder the education of the children when the whole community work
    collaboratively.

    The microphone was then handed on to Ma’am Mikaela Angela “Mika” B.


    Sunasing. Her words reverberated not only in the gymnasium but also in the hearts
    and minds of the attendees as she expressed her full support to provide quality
    education for the learners. She shared that she was also a product of public school
    and a scholarship grantee which helped her to be where she is today. These
    incredible experiences of her drove her to serve and be an instrument to help other
    students in achieving their dreams through accessible education.

    The floor was then given to Ma’am Ladymel Sicat, Provincial Director of
    DOST. She explicated the features of Starbooks and how it would benefit the
    learning of the learners. She reiterated that Starbooks is one of the initiatives of
    their agency wherein they provide free equipment and tool to help the students get
    easy access to various learning materials and references without worrying about
    the internet. She added that massive learning and reading materials are already
    stored in the Starbooks wherein the students can freely enjoy them offline. She
    ended her message with the statement “In DOST, we strive to develop and innovate
    science and technology to alleviate the quality of education in our country”.
    The program continued as they moved to the acceptance and response
    headed by Sir Pator G. Balintag, Jr. of Vicente R. Bumanlag Sr. National High
    School, on behalf of all recipient schools. He joyfully accepted the donation of DOST
    and expressed his gratitude to the agency. After his message, each principal was
    then requested to have a photo opportunity as the DOST turned over the Starbooks
    to them.

    The program was concluded by the closing remarks rendered by Ma’am


    Tgaumpay M. Puno, Head Teacher -III, Mathematics emphasizing that through the
    collaboration of different government agencies, they can produce another
    generation of students geared and equipped with quality education.
