GENERAL MANAGER Since 2001
Provided focused, hands-on, inspirational leadership managing all aspects of the
operation of this top-rated ski resort having served 171,000 seasonal visitors
and generating $9 Million per year, with 7 chair lifts and catering to a broad c
lient base and offering exceptional services and amenities. Collaborated smoothl
y and effectively with a 6-member senior management team, motivated, guided, and
led 35 departmental supervisors and indirectly managed up to 550 full time and
part-time employees and volunteers. Interfaced and partnered with local business
es, community leaders, and local, state, and federal officials to maintain stron
g relations and achieve key organizational requirements.
Organizational Impact:
Responsible for full P&L results for all skiing operations, as well as a 50-room
hotel, RV park, formal restaurant and bar, 3 on-mountain bars and fast food est
ablishments, and all retail and other revenue-generating businesses.
Successfully branded and positioned the resort as the best value in its class. F
acilitated a strong family-friendly atmosphere for year-round activities that in
cluded events such as reunions, sporting events, weddings, and conferences.
Spearheaded a total of over $6 Million in capital improvements throughout the re
sort over the last 8 years to increase client satisfaction, improve infrastructu
re, lower costs, boost safety, and remain competitive. Involved in all facets of
projects from initial feasibility studies through construction completion.
Designed and implemented specialized training to maintain staff and guest wellbe
ing and safety, and developed contracts and releases to minimize corporate liabi
lity. Training also focused on specialized, customer service, and other key skil
ls for employees at all levels in the organization.
Major accomplishments included successfully completing a complex permitting proc
ess with the United States Forest Service to secure a 40-year special use operat
ing permit. Consistently grew sales volume year-over-year to exceed revenue and

ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER 1988 - 2001
Served in a primary leadership capacity to ensure that both short and long-term
business objectives met resort-wide. Reported to the General Manager and worked
with senior management across 10 departments. Monitored and supervised all daily
operational functions, including account and finances, HR, purchasing, risk man
agement, loss prevention, sales, parking, and security. Held full operational an
d P&L authority in absence of General Manager.
Organizational Impact:
Evaluated the performance of individual employees, departments, hospitality unit
s, general and retail sales, and other prime revenue generators. Designed and im
plemented improved processes and procedures, identified and eliminated inefficie
ncies, and crafted training programs and employee relations strategies to boost
