UNIT 1 : Compound Noun

A compound noun is made up of two words that are joined together. A compound words can either
form one word or two words.

UNIT 2 : Abstract / Concrete Noun

Abstract noun are words that refer to entities that we cannot feel with our five senses.

Concrete nouns are words that refer to anything that we can feel with our senses.

UNIT 3 : Relexive Pronouns

Relexive pronouns are pronouns that refer back to the subject of the sentences or clause.

UNIT 4 : Relative Pronouns

A relative pronoun is one which is used to refer to nouns mentioned previously, whether they are
people, place, thing, animals or ideas.

UNIT 5 : Simple Present Tense

The simple present tense is used to describe habits, unchanging situations, general truths and fixed
arrangement.

1. Idith and Asin cycle to school everyday.


2. Encik Hakimi sent an email to his brother every week.
3. My father washes his car during the weekend.
4. He watches television before he goes to bed.
5. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
6. Najmee carries a black bag to school every day.

UNIT 6 : Present Continous Tense

1. People around the world are generating a lot of waste. (p.55)
2. Last but not least, people avoid using disposable items. (p.54)
3. They are not walking to school today. They are riding their bicycles.(p.59)
4. They are not sleeping. They are watching television.
5. He is not washing his car. He is watering the plants.

UNIT 7 : Subject-Verb Agreement

A singular subject is followed by a singular verb.

Example : He walks around the lake every morning.

A plural subject is followed by a plural verb.

Example : They have three children.

2. The cake has a lot of raising and chocolate chips in it.
3. We want to meet our friends at the mall tomorrow.
