    Introduction
    Dodgeball is a team sport in which the players
    have to dodge or catch the balls thrown by their
    opponents whilst attempting to hit their
    opponent in the same way.

    As part of our physical education SBA the


    students of grade level 11 agri/tech decided to
    research on the game of dodgeball and the who's
    in competition amongst the students of
    president’s college. The teams comprised of
    both meals and females of the upper school
    population. As you go through the portfolio you
    will have an understanding about the sport, the
    history rules of the game and the role of the
    researcher and how the game was planned and
    executed.
    Background

    As part of the school-based assessment for


    physical education and sport for the 2022
    Caribbean secondary examination. The class of
    grade 11 Agricultural science and Technology
    was required to organize and oversee a
    tournament for a sport of our choice. Each
    student was required to manage every aspect of
    the tournament such as planning out games,
    raising money for prizes, advertising as well as
    umpiring each game.
    To begin with the class was divided into two
    groups where each group had to suggest a game.
    It was out of flag football or dodge ball, but
    dodge ball was eventually selected after having
    to do a debate and a voting, where dodge ball
    receives the majority votes. Also, most of the
    students had prior knowledge to the game so it
    will make the game much easier to go about
    playing.
    Throughout the competition, each student was
    required to fulfill the responsibilities of their
    respective role and report on what they had
    done. My SBA role was to be an official.
    History

    Where was dodge ball originated?


    Dodgeball Originated in Africa
    They would literally throw rocks at each other
    with the intention of incapacitating them. Some
    scholars think it went even further than that, and
    that it was a game played to the death. ... Other
    scholars believe the game originated in Asia,
    Greece, or Mesoamerica as early as 500 BC.

    How was dodge ball created?


    Another person's take was that dodgeball was
    invented in Akron, Ohio, in 1897, when cousins
    Hubert Dodge and Clarence A. Ball played with
    a broken house brick due to a shortage of
    vulcanized rubber.

    When did dodge ball originated?


    Many have concluded that the original game of
    dodgeball was played around 200 years ago in
    order to train African warriors. However, some
    people also believe that it was played around
    500 BC in Asia, Greece, or Mesoamerica.

    Who invented dodge ball?


    Philip Ferguson is generally regarded as the
    person most responsible for taking dodgeball
    over to America and popularizing it. He saw the
    boys of St. Mary's College playing and he hit
    upon an idea for the game that would make it
    quicker and faster.
