To most nouns add s Consonant + o add es f/fe use ves
orange - oranges tomato - tomatoes life - lives

To ch, sh, s, x, z add es vowel + y add s consonant + y use ies

Special Plural Nouns


Some nouns change and others can stay the same
in plural. These are irregular plural nouns.

For words that end with the sounds /p/, /t/, /k/ and /f/: /s/

For words that end with the sounds /s/, /x/, /z/, /ch/, /sh/, /j/, /ge/ : /Iz/
bus - buses box - boxes exercise - exercises
watch - watches brush - brushes orange - oranges
For words that end in vowel sounds and the rest of the consonants: /z/
telephone - telephones eraser - erasers
bag - bags mosquito - mosquitoes
