B. From the laid-out hatchery design above, identify the function of the different
rooms/areas of your hatchery.
ROOMS FUNCTION
Supply office Supply /materials are placed here
Egg storage room (cold The goal of egg storage is to stop the embryo's development until
storage) incubation begins. Inadequate storage leads to a rise in early deaths, which
are frequently mistaken as sterile eggs.
Wash room The trays are washed in a tray washer in the washroom after the
chicks have been packed. This room accommodates the necessary
piping and high-pressure pumps.
Room for electrical/gas Room where electric generator is located
generators
Hatcher room/s It is the room where all personnel take a shower to maintain
cleanliness.
Shower room
Fumigation room It is the room were the pest control or the removal of harmful
microorganism takes place
Chick room (chick Here, the chicks are sex-separated, graded ,vaccinated and placed in
grading and chick chicks box
processing)
C. In at least 3-4 paragraphs discuss the importance of the different key points to consider
in designing a hatchery farm. Put your paragraph after each number.
1. Determined the Budget- Hatchery is a significant financial commitment. When making financial
decisions, make sure that the initial outlay is justified.evaluated against the possibility of a
negative impact on future productivity and longevity
2. Set a Production Capacity-The size and expense of the hatchery will be heavily influenced by
production capacity. As a goal, design and build a hatchery with a final output capacity.
Remember that the amount of space is crucial.
3. Confer with an Experienced and Design Consultant-The overall success of the operation is
substantially enhanced by a personalized design. Every hatchery is a unique institution that
necessitates the services of a skilled design expert. The design consultant should be well-versed

on incubation equipment needs, such as ventilation, floor structure, slopes and drainage, and
minimum space needed
4. Selecting the Best Hatchery Site- It is very important to elect the best site that will
make your hatchery grow. You need to select a place where neighborhood is far away
from it. There must be an adequate source of waterAccess to land for manure application
Furthermore it must be accessible..
5. Designing the Ventilation System-ventilation control systems in the hatcher can lower
or raise the humidity levels automatically. It is significant because it ensures that the
incubators run in the most consistent environment possible, allowing for optimal embryo
growth.
6. Choose Hatchery Equipment Wisely-When it comes to a smooth hatchery operation,
the equipment in your hatchery is critical. It should be simple to use and maintain without
the need for technical knowledge. These choices have a significant impact on the overall
project cost..Use specialized products created and manufactured expressly for hatchery
applications.
7. Developing a Preliminary Floor-A preliminary floor plan must be created around the
specifications of a given incubator manufacturer, and must take into account the
hatchery's production capacity, future growth plans, and equipment selections in order to
further define budget and overall design standards.
