    METHOD: Qualitative Real Time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR)

    KIT USED: MERIL SARS-CoV-2 RTPCR kit (ICMR approved)

    CONTROLS: Valid

    Note:

    The results relate only to the specimens tested & should be correlated with clinical findings.
    Sensitivity of this assay depends on quality of sample submitted, stage of infection, type of specimen and clinical
    presentation.
    A single Negative (Not detected) result especially if it is from upper respiratory tract specimen does not exclude
    infection and should not be used as sole basis for patient management decisions.
    Repeat sampling and testing of lower respiratory specimen is strongly recommended in severe or progressive disease
    after a gap of 2-4 days after collection of first specimen if required.
    A Positive (Detected) result does not distinguish between a viable/replicating organism and a non-viable organism.
    Details of all positive patients will be communicated to Epidemiology cell and appropriate authorities as per ICMR
    guidelines whom you are requested to support
