CHP 216 PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY 3 Units

Purpose of the Course

This course introduces the elements of physical chemistry.

Course Objectives
The aim of this course is to enable learning about;
1. Physical chemistry concepts and the processes that take place in solution and
at interfaces
2. Measurement of thermodynamic and kinetic properties.
3. Analysis of problems involving physical chemistry
4. Practical problems in the field of physical chemistry

Learning Outcomes
At the completion of this course the learner should be able to:
1. Define physical chemistry concepts.
2. Evaluate the kinetic molecular theory of gases.
3. Apply the fundamental knowledge in physical chemistry (physical chemistry
principles in the field of chemical thermodynamics and electrochemistry).
4. Perform some measurements in practical physical chemistry.
