VISION:
Gapan City College is envisioned to be leading social institution dedicated to the delivery of quality, affordable and accessible higher tertiary
education and advance/ graduate programs/ studies among the youth of the locality/ City committed to service and excellence to become key agents of social
transformation in an increasingly complex, dynamic and global society.

MISSION:
It shall be the mission of Gapan City College to educate well rounded men and women for leadership and service by preparing them academically
competent, committed, possessing high degree of integrity and Godliness by obtaining/ finishing higher tertiary education and advance/ graduate studies.

GOALS:
To raise and nurture each student/ clientele a God-fearing person, law abiding and responsible citizen, a global or interracial human being aware of
the global trends as a true Gapanense.

PROGRAM GOALS:

a. To provide a comprehensive knowledge of the English language – its origin, growth and development, structures, and use.
b. To enhance the students’ competencies in the use of the English language in real-world contexts.
c. To present appropriate strategies of language use through a heightened awareness of how English works in different situations in the Philippines
and in Asia and the rest of the world.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES:

a. Graduates of this program should be able to:


 articulate a comprehensive and contextualized view of the English language system and development;
 communicate in English (both oral and written) fluently, accurately, and creatively in diverse social, cultural, academic, and professional
settings;
 facilitate English language learning in diverse social, cultural, academic, and professional settings;
 participate effectively in oral communication situations where language systems (phonology, morphology, syntactic, semantic) vary; and
 produce well-written texts for various academic and professional purposes.

b. To achieve these outcomes, graduates must have the following competencies:


 communicate in English (both oral and written) fluently, accurately, and creatively in diverse social, cultural, academic, and professional
setting;
 facilitate English language learning in a school setting;

 teach English communication skills using knowledge of best practices;


 enhance literacy development and critical/creative thinking among students through the use of different types of texts; and
 engage in English language research relevant to the school and workplace settings.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course aims to help students to improve their daily communication in English by building a solid foundation. It also aims to improve their
reading and writing ability, expanding their vocabulary, and becoming more confident in expressing themselves in English.

COURSE OUTCOMES:

At the end of this course, the student should be able to

a. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the four macro skills.


b. Develop communication ability in four macro skills areas: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
c. Attain and enhance competence in the four modes of literacy.
d. Apply the principles of four macro skills by expressing themselves.
