Lone Soldiers Program
With the full support of the IDF, and in cooperation with the Friends of the IDF (FIDF),
the Nefesh B’Nefesh Lone Soldiers Program was established to assist and support the brave
young men and women who choose to serve in the IDF, regardless of their country of origin.
There are currently 3,000 Lone Soldier Olim, serving in a range of positions in the army, without
close family in Israel. For these soldiers, military service is a challenging and empowering
experience. However, this challenge is often accompanied by feelings of loneliness and difficulty
acclimating to military service and an independent life style in Israeli society.

Licensing for Medical ProfessionALS
Nefesh B’Nefesh has faced, head-on, the challenges health care professionals meet
when trying to transfer their license and career to Israel. NBN works tirelessly to enable
medical care professionals to receive their Israeli licenses quickly and efficiently.
A direct result of these efforts is the unique partnerships forged with the Israeli Medical
Association and the Israeli Ministry of Health and their Medical Professions Licensing
Department. They are available to discuss the medical licensing process and help build
a plan for Olim who want to move to Israel, to ensure a rapid transition to the Israeli
medical workforce.
To date, over 600 medical professionals have made Aliyah through Nefesh B’Nefesh,
representing a wide range of medical specialties. Most of these professionals are
employed in hospitals, HMOs and the private sector.
