    GUIDELINES FOR THE CHRISTMAS CHORAL COMPETITION:

    1. The City Government of Lipa through the Lipa City Tourism Council will hold a Choral
    Competition 2021 in line with the Nativity of Jesus.

    2. The Christmas Choral Competition is open for all Churches and school choirs of Lipa City and
    is allowed to submit only one entry.

    3. The theme of the video is “Tuloy na Tuloy pa rin ang Pasko”, and thus must showcase of the
    Lipeños unity and peace in the Community. The video may include any of the following:
    people, traditions, and highlights the beauty of the Church Christmas Décor specially the
    Belen.

    4. The Choir group must consist of 15 to 30 members and must perform in appropriate attire or
    costumes. The group may perform Christmas Carols either Filipino or English Songs or both.

    5. The length of the video must not be less than three (3) minutes but must not be over five (5)
    minutes including opening and end credits including the LGU Lipa and Lipa City Tourism and
    Museum Council logo.

    6. Entries should be High Definition (HD) video is formatted at 720p (1280 px 720px) or 1080px
    (1920 px 1080 px).

    7. The LCTMC and judges reserve the right to disqualify any entry from the competition that
    they feel may breach any of the Competition rules, the Terms and Conditions or may bring the
    competition into disrepute.

    8. CONTEST ENTRY FORM (see attached) must be properly filled out and submitted to
    [email protected] by December 15, 2021 until 4:00 pm, or if not possible, in
    USB or CD to the Tourism Office, City Community Affairs Office.

    9. Video entries will be uploaded at the FB Page of Mayor Eric B. Africa’s, Lipa City Tourism
    and Museum and other social media account. The Video will only be used for Tourism
    purposes only.

    10. PENALTIES
    Any choral group exceeding the time limit allotted for their performance will be penalized
    as follows:
     Less than one (1) minute over time allotted – 1 point subtracted from total
    cumulative score of all judges.
     One (1) to two (2) minutes over time allotted – 2 points subtracted from total
    cumulative score of all judges.
     More than two (2) minutes over time allotted – 2 points subtracted from total
    cumulative score of all judges.

    11. The following will be the criteria for judging:

    50% - Musically
    (Pitch, Intonation, Harmony, Diction, Dynamics)
      Performance
    (Voice, Tonal Quality, Voice Production, Technique, Breathing)

    50%- Focus on tradition, Christmas Décor / Belen


    100% Total

    12. Prizes are at stake for the winners:


    First Place - P30,000.00
    Second Place - P20,000.00
    Third Place - P10,000.00
    Consolation (7) - P 5,000.00

    13. Winners will be announced in December within the Christmas month celebration.

    14. The decision of the judges is final.
