Summary of NHCS Salary Changes

 All Salary increases are effective on January 1, 2022, for staff employed as of that date.
 Salary Schedule and Bonus Changes are summarized in the chart below.

Job Category Summary of Salary Schedule Changes


Teachers and • 1.3% increase in salary schedule plus step increase
Certified • Average increase of 2.5%, including step (ranging from 1.3% to 5.4%)
Instructional • School Counselors to receive new state supplement of $100/month
Support • Psychologists, Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists to receive new
state supplement of $350/month
School • Assistant Principals - Salary Schedule based on base Teacher Schedule plus 19% -
Administrators average increase of 2.5%
• Principal Salaries - Salary Schedule increase of 2.5% increase
o For July – December 2021, step based on 19-20 ADM; January – June 2022 step based on
21-22 ADM
o School growth scores based on 2 of the prior 3 years up to 18-19
Non-Certified • $14 Minimum for FY 22 ($15 Minimum for FY 23)
• 30 1% steps
• 2 step increase to catch up for last year’s missed experience step
• 2.5% Minimum Increase
• Average increase of 8.5%
Bus Drivers • $15 Minimum for Drivers
• $14 for Bus Aides
• 1% steps to reach top of the state at step 15
• 2 step increase to catch up for last year’s missed experience step
• Average Increase is 7%
Child Nutrition • Revised Schedule to reflect new State Minimum Wage of $13/hour
Helpers • 2 step increase to catch up for last year’s missed experience step
• Average increase of 9%
Subs and Hourly • Revised Rates
• $13 Minimum Wage
Central Office • Provides greater equity with School Administrators
Administration • Added Pre-K Director to SA5, shifted Central Program Director to SA6 and Exec
Dir to SA7
• 30 1% steps with top of the schedule
• 2 step increase to catch up for last year’s missed experience step
• Average Increase 14.3%
• Contracted Senior Staff raises based on average teacher increase of 2.5%
BONUS Summary
Bonus Description Payment Date
Retro Pay Bonus  Equal to the salary increase for one-half of the year and 1/31/22
based on the employee’s new base salary annual rate of
pay, prorated based on months worked
 Does not apply to those separated from service prior to
December 31
 Will apply to those with effective retirement date of
January 1
 Subject to retirement and taxes as regular wages
Premium Pay Bonus  $1,000 bonus for all full-time employees 1/31/22
 Additional $500 bonus for employees making less than
$75,000 per year (including salary and supplements, but
not extra duty or bonuses)
 Applies to those employed as of December 1, 2021

COVID Bonus  $1,000 bonus to teachers and certified instructional 1/31/22


support that received training associated with COVID-19.
 Human Resources to coordinate collection training
documentation to determine eligibility
Classroom Teachers  $300 in lieu of State Performance Bonus 1/31/22
Advanced Course and  Advance Course - $50 bonus to teacher for each student 1/31/22 or 2/28/22
CTE Bonuses who scores three or higher on College Board Advanced depending on data
Placement Exam or four or higher on International availability from
Baccalaureate Course Exams DPI
 CTE Bonus - $25 or $50 bonus to teacher for each
student that attained industry certification or credential
Principals  $1,800 in lieu of State Performance Bonus
Local ESSER  $1,000 One-Time Bonus 12/15/21
School Support Bonus o School-Based Non-Certified Clerical and
Instructional Support
o Operational Support including Bus Drivers/Aides,
Child Nutrition Workers, Custodians and Skilled
Trades (Bus Mechanics, Dispatchers, Maintenance
Trades and Warehouse Staff)
 Applies to full and part-time active employees as of
12/1/21
 To promote the retention and recognize the service of
these employees during the pandemic
NOTE: All bonuses other than the Retro Pay Bonus (which is actually salary) will be taxed at the
supplemental tax rates and will not be subject to the retirement deduction.

Legislative Intent for 2022-23 per approved State budget includes average increase of 2.5% for all salary
categories with minimum wage $15
