CARE, CORE , CURE LYDIA HALL Lydia Hall used her knowledge of
MODEL psychiatry and nursing experiences
in the Loeb Center to formulate
her theory. Also know as The Three
Cs of Lydia Hall, it contains three
independent but intercoonected
circles: the core, care and the cure.
To care the primary role of the
profesional midwife and the core
the patient recieving the midwife
care , while cure the
administration of medications and
treatment.
I find that parts of the theory fit
my proffesion as is states that it
aims to help people, sick or well,
cope with their health needs. In
critical care setting, my current
practice has shifted from nursing
care exclusive to the desease to
addressing the patients immediate
health care needs. Abdellah theory
equips me with specific guidelines
as to how i can better manage a
variety of patient condition. As a
 midwife before we admit the
patient needs to get the history to
find out what drugs they are
prescribed in case of an
emergency know immediately
what to do. And while the patient
remained in the clinic for 24 hrs.
They were taught health education
like family planning , hygiene both
baby and mother after that advice
them for follow up.
ENVIRONMENTAL FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE Nightingale believed that when
THEORY one or more aspect of the
environmental are out of balance,
the client must use increased
energy to counteract environment
stresses leave the client with the
energy needed for healing. As a
midwife in barangay health center
our obligation is to educate our ka
barangay to maintain cleanliness .
When i was working at the
barangay health center we
educated our barangay for
environmental cleanliness .
Cleaning our sorrounding help as
to produce fresh air. If our family
member get sick they recover fast
if our environment clean. And to
avoid diarrhea, dengue and other
deseases maintain cleanliness.
Nightingale also mentioned health
of house mean cleanliness outside
the house affected the inside.
THEORY OF HUMAN JEAN WATSON JEAN WATSON THEORY OF
CARING HUMAN CARING is central to
nursing practice and it promote
health better than a simple
medical cure. As a midwife we
also applied the 7 assumptions of
the caring science to our patient as
working in a medical and birthing
clinic. Everytime we have a
patient to consider a catéter and
removal , IUD, circumcision ,
immunization, ultrasound and
blood instract we instruct and
comfort first before starting the
 procedure. As a midwife need to
demostrated and practiced only
interpersonally to build
relationship with patient to reach
the patient problem. After reach
the patient problem its time to
report to the doctor to provide
medicine. And to make them feel
thet they are important to you.
SELF- CARE NURSING DOROTHEA OREM DOROTHEA OR FOCUSES ON
THEORY INDIVIDUALS ABILITY TO PERFORM
SELF CARE. Orem’s self care déficit
theory suggests patients are better
able to recover when they
maintain some Independence over
their own self-care. As a midwife
we do our scope to care our
patient thru assist or support them
like to take a bath, to eat, to
change cloth, to take medicine etc.
because they cannot do alone to
care thier self. And Need to teach
them slowly to do it by herself
until they recover. Teach also our
patient to indipendent when they
recovered.
‘’NEEDS ‘’ THEORIES VIRGINIA HENDERSON Virginia Henderson was a nurse ,
theorist and she also know as The
First Lady of Nursing , As a midwife
we do also the three levels of
Nurse- Patient Relationship like
substitutive o doing for the person
{doer}, Supplementary or helping
the person {helper}. As a midwife
we also use the 14 component of
Virginia Henderson during labor
teach the mother the right
breathing normaly during labor,
also the right position during labor,
select suitable clothes, maintain
the body temperature of patient to
avoid cold and maintain the room
temperature , keep the body clean
to avoid infection both baby and
mother after bith, make it sure the
delivery table safe to avoid
accident, communicate to the
patient during labor to comfort
her. After birth transfer the
mother and baby to the Ward.
Assist the patient going to comfort
room for emergency purposes ,
assist changing clothes while she is
not yet able to move on her own.
Educate the mother about Family
planning and teach the her how
and what to do when going home.
