LEARNING PLAN OF SCIENCE GRADE 10

2nd Set – 1st Quarter

SUBJECT: Science
GRADE & SECTION: 10 – Rizal & Bonifacio
WEEK 3-4 : Sept. 9 – 22, 2021-2022
UNIT TOPIC: Plate Tectonics Distribution

Content Standard: The learner demonstrates an understanding of the relationship among location of
volcanoes, earthquake epicentres and mountain ranges.

Performance Standard: The learner demonstrates ways to ensure disaster preparedness during earthquakes,
tsunamis and volcanic eruptions and suggest ways by which he/she can contribute to government efforts in
reducing damage due to earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.

Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC):

1. Describe the distribution of active volcanoes and major mountain belts and their location.
2. Relate the distribution of active volcanoes and major mountain belts to
Plate tectonic theory.
3. Explain the distribution of active volcanoes and mountain belts.
4. Prepare for a proper conduct before, during and after the incidence of volcanic eruption.

Learning Targets (Objectives of the Lesson): Student can locate the area where the approximate epicenters
of earthquake happened with use of logical method.

ACQUISITION
1. Student can describe the distribution of active volcanoes and major mountain belts.
2. Student can relate the distribution of active volcanoes and major mountain belts to plate
Tectonic theory.

MEANING MAKING
1. Student can explain the distribution of active volcanoes and mountain belts.

TRANSFER
1. Student can prepare for a proper conduct before, during, and after the incidence of
Volcanic eruption.

Resources & Materials: Discover Science (k-12 curriculum compliant, Diwa learning town),
And Exploring Life Through Science series,(The New Grade 10)

Value/s Integration: Socially Concern, Respect, and Modelling Mary
