Examples:
If + presente simple, will + infinitive.
I’ll, you’ll, he’ll, she’ll, etc.
If I have time, I’ll call you.
If she has enough money next year, she’ll buy a motorbike.
If I go to Paris, I’ll visit my friend John.
If the weather is good, we’ll go to the beach.
I’ll visit him if I go to Paris.
I’ll call you if I have time.
What will you do if you fail your test?
Where will you go if you move out of you parents’ house?
Las negaciones del primer condicional se hacen con will not o bien la forma corta won’t.
If he calls me, I won’t answer.
If I fail the test, I won’t finish university.

ACTIVITY #4
Audio script Speaker:
Hello everyone! Tomorrow morning, we’re going hiking in the forest.
I know we’re all going to have a fantastic time, but I have some
important information that I want to tell you. First of all, make sure
you bring enough water. You should bring two water bottles. There
is no place that we can get water on the route. If you don’t have a
water bottle, you can get one in the food tent. Secondly, it’s possible
that we’ll see some dangerous animals, like snakes. Don’t panic! If snakes aren’t scared, they don’t
bite. So just stay calm, and wait for the snake to go away. There are bears in the forest too, so don’t
leave any food on the ground
If bears smell food, they follow it! We don’t want to see any bears – this is extremely important. We’re
going to stop at a lake so that you can swim. But the water is really cold. If you stay in the water a
long time, your body loses energy and it’s difficult to swim. So when you feel cold, get out! One last
thing. Put insect repellent on your legs and arms. Some insects in the forest are dangerous – if they
bite you, it’s really painful, and you can get ill. And take it with you, so you can put more on during
the hike. That’s everything! So we leave tomorrow at 9am.
a. If snakes aren’t scared, they don’t___________.
b. If bears smell food, they___________!
c. If you stay in the water a long time, your body loses________ and it’s difficult to swim.
d. If they bite you, it’s_________ and you can get ill.
17. Read the sentences in exercise 16 and choose the correct option.
a. These sentences talk about an imaginary situation / something that is always true.
b. We use present simple / past simple after if.
c. We use present simple / past simple in the other part of the sentence.
d. This is called zero / first conditional.
18. Complete the sentences using the zero conditional. Example: If you start the day with a good
breakfast, you have lots of energy all day.
