Digital literacies were not the focus of this lesson and not largely embedded.
However, given the nature of the lesson, digital literacies were involved
adequately, by incorporating the use of technology for the students for whom
it was necessary.
6) If you were to teach the lesson again, what modifications would you make regarding
digital literacies?
One thing done in other classes that was not used today is Jamboard. This
helps online friends to be even more engaged because they get to interact
with in real time to the lesson being taught and skills being practiced.

For this assignment, I had to be a bit creative in a short amount of time. I had an
out-of-town prior engagement from October 6th through the 9th and October 11th through
the 15th is Fall Break for our district. I really wanted to make an effort to actually
observe, though, rather than utilize supplementary videos. To do this, I got approval
the 6th.
Reflections
The lesson I observed was a Success for All (SFA) lesson, level 2.1, I believe. This class
consisted of 1st-4th graders who read at a second grade, semester one level. As far as digital
literacies go, the teacher observed displayed the majority ofmost of the technology use.
StudentsFriends who were “Learning learning from Home home” needed to utilize their
technology, but those in person did physical work rather than digital. Students at home used the
chat box and other Google Meet functions adequately and they were urged to participate with
others online to still gain from a cooperative learning environment. The main purpose was to
help the online students friends remain a part of the class and engaged in the lesson.
I think that integrating Integrating digital literacy needs to be done at varying levels
dependent on the grade and purpose of the lessons being learned. While it is important, it is not
always necessary depending on the overall learning objective. Based on what was observed and
discussed with other facultymy colleague, I would say that each lesson we teach taught can
always be refined and integrating more digital literacy components gets easier and easier every
5
day. In my own teaching practice, I must remain content with the fact that my lessons may not be
perfect, but with time, I can build on them and work toward deepening the meaningful learning
