After each lesson I reflect on my teaching and how the students did with the lesson. I made a Google 6.1 Reflecting on Doc to write down all my teaching practice in individual notes. At the support of student end of each week, I learning partner with the teacher and I discuss what we thought of the week how the students are doing, and plan the next weeks’ lessons. For example, last year I taught the religion lesson on kindnes about week 8 the order the book was in, after noticed that students were struggling with kindness this year I taught this chapter in the second week. 9/21/21 CSTP 6: Developing as a Professional Educator Element 6.2 Emerging Exploring Applying Integrating Innovating Develops goals Sets goals connected to Sets goals connected to Sets and modifies Sets and modifies a connected to the CSTP the CSTP that take into the CSTP that are authentic goals broad range of through required account authentic, challenging, connected to the CSTP professional goals processes and local self-assessment of and based on self- that are intellectually connected to the CSTP protocols. teaching practice. assessment. challenging and based to improve on self-assessment and instructional practice Attends required Expands knowledge Aligns personal goals feedback from a variety and impact student professional and skills individually with school and of sources. learning within and development. and with colleagues district goals, and beyond the classroom. through available focuses on improving Engages in and professional student learning. contributes to Engages in ongoing development. professional inquiry into teacher 9/21/21 Selects and engages in development targeted practice for professional on student professional 6.2 Establishing development based on achievement. CSTP 6: Developing as a Professional Educator I am constantly trying to improve my teaching skills and learning new ways to complete this. Throughout the year teachers have grade level meetings and all teacher meetings to fix the gaps in the state testing. Throughout the year I look for DP that I can attend to make my classroom the best learning environment it can be. I use what I learn in the PD in my classroom. For example, this year I adapted weekly progress reports for each student, better communication with parents, doing sight in a different way, and ABC Bootcamp that I learned from a PD. As a school at our last PD we discussed that the math scores are good but could be better so we got back our ALEKS program. 9/21/21 CSTP 6: Developing as a Professional Educator Element 6.3 Emerging Exploring Applying Integrating Innovating Attends staff, grade Consults with Collaborates with Collaborates with Facilitates level, department, and colleagues to consider colleagues to improve colleagues to expand collaboration with other required how best to support student learning and impact on teacher and colleagues. meetings and teacher and student reflect on teaching student learning within collaborations. learning. practice at the grade or department Works to ensure the classroom level. and school and district broadest positive Identifies student and Begins to identify how levels. impact possible on teacher resources at to access student and Interacts with 9/21/21 instructional practice the school and district teacher resources in members of the and student level. the broader broader professional Engages with members achievement at school professional community to access of the broader and district levels and community. resources that support professional for the profession. teacher effectiveness community to access 6.3 Collaborating and student learning resources and a wide Initiates and develops with colleagues and range of supports for professional learning the broader teaching the full range opportunities with the professional of learners. broader professional community to 9/21/21 community focused on support teacher and student achievement. student learning CSTP 6: Developing as a Professional Educator Every week I meet with my partner teacher to discuss and see how our students are doing with mastering standards. Once a month we meet with our grade level team TK-2nd to discuss any items we see across the grade levels. We also discuss items that are happening around campus. I always speak with other teachers about my struggles to get feedback on what they do. I am in constant communication with the learning support teacher to ensure all my students are getting the best education and help they need. My principal and I have had many conversations regarding how to improve the curriculum. 9/21/21 CSTP 6: Developing as a Professional Educator Element 6.4 Emerging Exploring Applying Integrating Innovating Is aware of the role of the Acknowledges the Supports families to Provides opportunities Structures a wide range family in student learning importance of the contribute to the and support for families of opportunities for and the need for family’s role in student classroom and school. to actively participate in families to contribute to interactions with families. learning. Our parents are welcome
and encouraged in my classroom and school community. Pre-pandemic parents 6.4 Working with were invited into my families to support classroom daily after student learning recess to help students with their work. The school has many opportunities for families to help throughout the school. Such as the Parish Fiesta, Truck-or-Treat, Oktoberfest, any church ministry, room parents, parents are welcome to classroom birthdays, and holiday parties. I communicate to parents as needed, every Monday in the weekly newsletter, Friday principal, and school newsletter. I use ClassDOjo that translates into many different languages. each student is placed in with students that are at the same level.
