An in-depth analysis of the graph reveals that telephone was the major
channel to obtain travel information with 800 questions, compared to just
around 400 in-person enquiries. However, although having a modest start
there was a steady increase in the number of direct enquiries before hitting
a peak of 1200 in June. Similarly, the number of telephonic enquiries also
showed an upward trend with figures rising considerably to just 100 lower
than the figure for face-to-face interaction in the month of June.
Overall, it is evident that over the period, the number of questions asked in
direct to the tourist spot attained a steady increase and reached its zenith.
2. The table below shows social and economic indicators for four countries in
1994, according to United Nations statistics . summarise the information by
selecting and reporting the main features ,and make comparison where relevent
Ans. The table gives information about social and economic indicators of four
different countries in 1994 based on the United Nations statistics.
It is evident from the graph that in 1994, Japan had the highest annual income
per person (15,760 of US dollars ). Meanwhile, both Japan and Canada had a
similar proportion of adult literacy rate and in life expectancy at birth, with 99%
and 96% respectively. At the same time annual income rate per head was less
than 200 in per cent in Peru and Zaire
Interestingly, Canada had the highest daily calorie supply per person, 3326 which
was four hundred and eighty greater than Japan, whilst calorie supplies in Peru
Overall, it can be clearly seen from given information, the figures for all countries
indicators were consistently higher in Canada and Japan. Moreover, Zaires had
the lowest figures for all four indicators.
Ans. The line graph provides details about the consumption of three
different spreads in grams between 1981 and 2007.
It is evident from the graph that both margarine and butter showcase a
similar trend throughout the years. In1981, the amount of butter consumed
was about 140 grams, which then rose by 20 grams within the next five

years before dropping sharply to 50 grams in the final year. Similarly,
although having a modest start, there was a steady increase in the amount
of margarine consumed by people from 1986 and remained unchanged
for next five years followed by a sudden drop to 40 grams in 2007.
Unlike others two spread , the intake of low fat and reduced spread gained
popularity only in the year 1996. Despite rising sharply to 90 grams from
an all-time low of 10 grams in1996, consumption of low fat decreased by 20
grams in the final year.
Ans. The pie chart displays the principal reason for the degradation of
farmland, while the table illustrates three regions of the planet in the 1990s
which were affected by these 3 factors.
It is evident from the pie chart that overgrazing was the main reason for
agricultural land degradation with just over a third of the total distraction
caused by this factor. Meanwhile, widespread clearing of trees and over
cultivation accounted for an equal share of nearly 30 per cent which was
almost four times the land degraded by other reasons.
5. The diagrams below show the stages and equipment used in the cement
making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building
purposes
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features,
and make comparison where relevant
The diagram give detail about the different steps involved in the production
of cement and concrete
First of all, the first figure describes the production of cement. The raw
materials, limestone and clay needed for the manufacturing of cement is
first crushed in the crusher and then the crushed materials are sent to the
Ans; The picture illustrates the main stages that take place in the life cycle
of honey bee.
At the first stage of the process a female bee typically lays one to two eggs
for every three days. After 9 to 10 days those eggs show the initial sign of
hatching and eventually evolve into immature insects called nymphs. This
is followed by the moulting process which makes way for the growth of the
honeybee. During these days, the newborn bee grows larger in size and
molds for a total of 3 times, 5 days after the egg hatches, seven days after
and finally 9 days later.
7. The two pie charts below show the percentages of industry sectors
contribution to the economy of turkey in 2000 and 2016
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features
and make comparison where relevant
Ans. The pie charts give information about the revenue contributed by eight
different sectors of turkey in 2000 and 2016
It is clear from the chart that contributions by different sectors varied from
the initial year except in health and education with 17 per cent. Strikingly,
agriculture which contributed the highest to the economy in 2000 went
down by 10per cent in 2016. Similarly, leisure and hospitality and
government also attained a decline by 3 per cent from a share of 17 and
12 per cent respectively.
Overall, the biggest drop areas in agriculture while the area that had the
greatest growth was construct. The remaining sectors all grew or decreased
to smaller amounts, while health care remained unchanged.
The table describes the details about the underground railway system of six
cities in terms of date opened, routes covered in kilometers and the number
of passengers travelling annually in millions.
An in-depth analysis of the table reveals that the oldest underground
railway service provided is in London, initiated in 1863, and also covers the
longest rail route of 394 kilometers. On the other hand Lose Angels is the
latest as it opened in 2001 and is extended over 28km. Even though the

length of the railway network in Paris is half that of London's network , it
has the second position in passenger density (1191 million travellers per
year.)
Furthermore, Tokyo rail service started in 1927 and has the largest number
of passengers with 1927 million commuters per year, while it is Kyoto that
consists of the least number of travellers(45 millions). Finally, the
underground railway network in Washington DC came into existence in
1976 with an extension of over 126km.
Overall, two of the oldest railway systems are in London and Paris but it is
Paris and Tokyo that has a large number of passengers travelling annually.
The diagram illustrates the way the water supply system current works in
Australia and the plan for future change.

factories. From the city, storm water is directed straight into the river,
whereas wastewater is directed straight into the river, whereas waste water
is sent to the water treatment plant to be processed. Once after the
completion of the treatment process, waste water is released into the river.
Regarding the future water supply system it can be seen that the storage of
water in the dam and the uses of it in the city are the same as the previous
system. However , both storm water and waste water from the city are to
be directed to the waste treatment plant for processing and after which they
will be recycled back for the utilisation in the city. Unlike present, it is
designed in such a way that no waste would be driven off to the
Over the period of time the area witnessed dramatic changes. The
farmland to the east of the river stoke, which is in the flows through the
western periphery of the town, were cleared for the construction of houses.
In 1986, there were shops and a post office in the center of the town but
now there are no shops left, although the post office is still there .The
Additionally, the large houses in the eastern side of the town was
renovated to a retirement home while the gardens near to it made way for
the construction of a handful of residential properties. New roads have
been extended towards the newly developed residential areas.
Overall, both countries in 1980 and 2008 spent a huge amount to pay their
utility bill, in case of other factors both nations showed equal proportion
It is evident from the charts that in 1980, British people allotted more than a
quarter of their money to leisure which experienced a surge to roughly a
third after three decades .However, the expenditure on utility bills,
transportation and other sector remained relatively unchanged at around
27,15,and 10 percentage respectively.Meanwhile,food and drink dropped
considerably by 10% to nearly 13% in 2008
When it comes to New Zealand ,it is noticed that more than half of the
budget was spent on food and utility bill with 29% and 27%in 1980 to a
quarter and less than a third respectively in 2008.Even though the
proportion on leisure and transportation stood at around 17% the other
sector accounted for only just around a tenth in both years .
The bar charts gives information about the proportion of people of different
age group who surfed the internet during the year 2003,2004,2005 and
2006 in the UK
As can be seen from the graph, young adults aged between 16 and 24 were
the popular users of world wide web ,with 80% in 2003 and 2004 which
then went up to 100 per cent before reducing to 90%in the final year
.Meanwhile, adults of age group 25 to 44 and 45 to 54 showcased an
increasing trend throughout the period ,from a modest start of 50% and
55% respectively,both reached around 60 by 2006.
Overall ,all countries spent most on food , drink and tobacco which was
almost three times than that of other items. At the same time Turkey had the
highest expenditure than other countries
Ans : The plan portraits the current layout of a university sports centre and
proposal for its future renovation which are likely to be carried out .
Moving on to the future plan , main building and arrangement are kept as if
it is ,while adjacent outdoor court on both sides are set to be removed in
order to be upgraded.Interestingly, along with the current pool a large
leisure pool is expected to be set up with changing room facilities in the
west wing .New sports hall in the east direction will include two dance
studio and a changing room .Moreover, there is also a plan to start
cafeteria and sports shop in the reception area .
Ans:The diagram explains the different steps in which bricks are made for
the construction industry .
Overall, there are seven stages in the process, starting with the digging up of
clay and ending at the delivery stage .
It is clear from the picture that in the first step clay required for the process
is dug up from the ground by a large digger. This clay is then placed onto a
metal grid from where it is filtered and passed on to the roller machine .
