Answer
1.An essay is a piece of writing that is written to convince someone of something or to simply
inform the reader about a particular topic. In order for the reader to be convinced or adequately
informed, the essay must include several important components to make it flow in a logical way.

2.The purpose of an essay is for you to say something for yourself using the ideas of the subject,
for you to present ideas you have learned in your own way. The emphasis should be on working
with other people's ideas, rather than reproducing their words, but your own voice should show
clearly.
3.in its most basic format, an essay can contain three paragraphs. Each paragraph gets typically
dedicated to each part of the article. Those who support the five-paragraph-essay have decided
that the body of the essay should be three paragraphs. Realistically, you could write fewer or
more sections in this part.
4,An essay has three main parts:
1. An introductory paragraph
2. Abody (at least one, but usually two or more paragraphs)
3. A concluding paragraph
The introductory paragraph consists of two parts: a few general statements about your subject to
attract your reader's attention and a thesis statement to state the specific subdivisions of your
topic andlor the "plan" of your paper. A thesis statement for an essay is just like a topic sentence
for a paragraph: It names the specific topic and the controlling ideas or major subdivisions of the
topic.
The body consists of one or more paragraphs. Each paragraph develops a subdivision of your
topic, so the number of paragraphs in the body will vary with the number of subdivisions or
subtopics. The body is the longest part of the essay and can contain as many paragraphs as
necessary to support the controlling ideas of your thesis statement. The paragraphs of the body of
the essay are like the main supporting points in a single paragraph. Furthermore, you can
organize the paragraphs in an essay just as you organize the ideas in a paragraph. by
chronological order. logical division of ideas. comparison and contrast. etc.
The conclusion in an essay, like the concluding sentence in a paragraph. is a summary or review
of the main points discussed in the body. The only additional element in an essay is the linking
expressions between the paragraphs of the body. These are just like transitions within a
paragraph. You use transitions within a paragraph to connect the ideas between two sentences.
Similarly, you use transiiitions between paragraphs to connect the ideas between them. You can
see that writing an essay is essentially the same as writing a paragraph; an essay is just longer.
The chart on the next page shows you how the parts of a paragraph correspond to the parts of an
essay.

5. The general statements will introduce the topic of the essay and give background
information. The background information for a short essay will generally just be one
or two sentences. The general statements should become more and more specific as
the introduction progresses, leading the reader into the essay (some writers talk
about "attracting the readers' attention", though for an academic essay, this is less
important). For longer essays, the general statements could include one or
more definitions, or could classify the topic, and may cover more than one
paragraph.

The thesis statement is the sentence that states the main idea of a writing assignment and helps
control the ideas within the paper. It is not merely a topic. It often reflects an opinion or
judgment that a writer has made about a reading or personal experience.

The Importance of sleep

Nowadays, many people are so busy with work that they neglect their sleeping hours. For
overtime workers, sleep is something they rarely do even though sleep is important.Sleep is one
of the activities that are consequential for health. According to research lack of quality sleep time
can affect health, mood and weight.
sleep is very much needed. In order for our nervous system to function properly. Lack of
sleep makes a person sleepy and unable to concentrate the next day. It also causes impaired
memory and physical performance and reduced ability to perform mathematical calculations. If
sleep deprivation continues, hallucinations and mood swings may occur.Sleep helps humans
maintain optimal emotional and social function when awake by giving rest during sleep to the
part of the brain that controls emotions and social interactions. With a good sleep, fatigue after a
day of activities will disappear by itself and the body will be refreshed.
Some people claim to get enough rest with just a few hours of sleep a night. In fact, this is
dangerous and affects performance and daily activities.People who less sleep at night tend to
have difficulty performing complex tasks. Therefore, it is known that we must get enough sleep
to avoid unwanted conditions.
