Manage your card online

Launch the My EasyGO website

You can load your card online without an account, or you can set up a My EasyGO web account.

Setting up your online account


Regular EasyGO fare cards: Launch the My EasyGO website and follow the steps below to create an account.

Cards for special fare programs: Your card was registered at customer service when it was issued. The card that customer service staff gave you has your
login information and temporary password. Follow the steps on the card to set up your account.

Updates
Sign up to be notified via email when there are important updates or changes to the fare card system. Go to regionofwaterloo.ca/subscribe, enter your
information, scroll down to e-newsletters and select "GRT Fare Card."

Reporting issues
If you experience an issue with the My EasyGO website, please report it using the online form. If you are reporting a transaction error, we will investigate and
get back to you within two business days.

Managing your card

Load your card without an account

If you choose not to register your card, you can add fare products to it without an account.

1.  Click "Add products to your card".
2. Enter your card's serial number.
3. Click "Continue".
4. Select the pass and/or the amount of stored value you want to add.

5. Click "Continue".
6. Select your payment method and enter your credit or debit information.
7. Confirm your order, billing information and read and accept the terms and conditions.
8. Click "Pay with your debit card" or "Pay with your credit card". 

To pay with your debit card, your financial institution must offer Interac Online. Visa gift cards are not accepted.

It may take up to 24-48 hours for your transaction to complete. After 24-48 hours have passed, products will appear on your card the next time it is tapped
on a farebox. You'll hear a special tone when your card is updated. You are responsible for paying any fares during this time period.

Create an account

 If you have a regular EasyGO fare card, you can register your card by creating an online account. This protects your card if it is lost or stolen.

1. Click "Create an account"


2. Enter the serial number on the back of your card.
3. Give the card a name, so you can easily identify it if you have multiple cards. 
4. Enter your name and contact information.
5. Create a password and enter responses to 3 security questions.
6. Read and accept the terms and conditions and privacy policy.

7. Click "Submit".

Your card is now registered to your account.

Name or rename a card

If your card was registered for you by customer service staff, it will not have a name. You can name your card, or change the name of a card.

Click "Manage card".


Select the card you wish to name.
Click "Edit Card Name".
Enter your card name and click Save.

Set a default card and see your balance on the home page

Setting a default card will display the card's balance on the home page. 

1. To change your default card, click on "Manage card".


2. Select the card you wish to make your default.
3. Click the "Set as Default" button. Your card balance will now show up on the Welcome screen.

View the fare products on your card

1. Click "Manage card".


2. Select the card you wish to view.
3. Click "Show products".

Check your card balance and history, and print receipts

1. Click "Manage card".


2. Select the card you wish to view.
3. Click "Balance History".

1. To print a receipt, select the transaction you wish to print a receipt for.
2. At the bottom of the page, click "Print receipt".

Add fare products

1. Click "Manage card".


2. Select the card you wish to add products to.
3. Click "Add Pass/Value".

4. From the dropdown menu, select the pass or stored value amount that you would like to add. The maximum amount of stored value your card can
hold is $100.

5. Click "Continue".
6. To pay with your credit card, enter your credit card information, confirm your order and accept the terms and conditions. Click "Pay with your credit
card."
7. To pay with your debit card, click "Pay with your debit card" and follow the steps of the Interac Online payment. Your financial institution must offer
Interac Online. Visa gift cards are not accepted. Visa debit cards should be used as a credit card.

Note: It may take up to 24-48 hours for your fare products to appear on your card. After 24-48 hours have passed, products will appear on your card the next
time it is tapped on a farebox. You'll hear a special tone when your card is updated. You are responsible for paying any fares during this time period.

Note that day passes cannot currently be loaded online.

Add a credit card to your account

You can keep your credit card information on file to make it quicker to purchase fare products. You'll need to have a credit card saved to your account to set
up an autoload of stored value or autorenewal of your monthly pass.

1. Click "Edit your account/payment info".


2. At the bottom of the page, click "Change credit card information"

3. Enter your credit card details.


4. Click "Update my information." 

Set up an autoload of stored value

Your card will automatically be topped up when the stored value on your card drops below $10.

You must have a credit card saved to your account to set up an autoload.

1. Click "Manage card."


2. Select the card you want to apply the autoload to and click "Add pass/value".
3. Select the amount of stored value that you want to add to your card each time.
4. For Type of Purchase, select "Autoload".

5. Click "Continue".
6. Confirm the details of the autoload and your credit card information.
7. Click "Pay with your credit card".

When your card is tapped on the farebox and the stored value is added to your card, you'll hear a special tone.

Set up an autorenew for your monthly pass

The next month's pass will be automatically added to your card before the first day of that month.

Don't add duplicate passes! You can only set up autorenew when you are purchasing your monthly pass. If you've already purchased this month's pass,
wait until next month to set up your autorenew.

You must have a credit card saved to your account to set up an autorenew.

1. Click "Manage card".


2. Select the card you want to apply the autorenew to and click "Add Pass/Value".
3. Under pass type, select the monthly pass.
4. For Type of Purchase, select "Autorenew".

5. Click "Continue".
6. Confirm the details of the autorenew and your credit card information.
7. Click "Pay with your credit card".

Your pass will be loaded on the 25th of the month. When your card is tapped on the farebox and the next month's pass is added to your card, you'll hear a
special tone.

Cancel an autoload or autorenew

1. Click "Manage card".


2. Select the card.
3. Click "Show products".
4. Select the autoload or autorenew you wish to cancel.
5. Click "Cancel autoload/autorenew".
6. Click "Confirm".

Re-start a dormant autoload

If the system tries several times to charge your credit card and isn't able to, your autoload will go dormant. To re-start the autoload:

1. Click on "Manage Card"


2. Select the card from the list
3. Click "Show products"
4. Under "Accounted products on card", select the autoload
5. Click the "Reactivate program" button

Block your card

If your card is lost or stolen, you can block it so that it can't be used. Blocking is permanent; once your card is blocked, it cannot be unblocked or used again.

Any remaining stored value or passes can be transferred to a new card by visiting GRT customer service. Do not remove the blocked card from your
account, or products cannot be transferred.

It can take up to 24-48 hours for the block to take effect. GRT is not responsible for any use of your card before the block takes effect.

1. Click "Manage card".


2. Select the card you wish to block.
3. Select the reason for blocking and click "Block Card".
4. Click "Confirm".

If you have an autoload or autorenew on your account, remember to cancel it. 

1. Click "Manage card".


2. Select the card you blocked.
3. Click "Show products."
4. Select the autoload or autorenew and click "Cancel autoload/autorenew".

Add another card to your account

If you have more than one card, you can add them to your account. Note: This only works for regular EasyGO fare cards. 

1. Log in to your account.


2. Click "Add a card".
3. Enter the serial number of the back of card.
4. Give the card a name so you can easily identify it in your list of cards.
5. Click "Add this card".

Remove a card from your account

Removing a card will unlink it from your account. You can still use any stored value or monthly passes loaded on the card, but any autoload or autorenew set
up for the card will be cancelled.

1. Click "Remove a card".


2. Select the card you want to remove.
3. Click "Remove this card".
4. Click "Confirm".

Note: You cannot remove a concession card from your account online. To remove a concession card from your account, please visit GRT customer service.

Edit your account details or payment info

You can change your name, address, password and payment information by going to "Edit your account/payment info".

To change your name or address, edit the new information and click "Update my information".
To change your password, enter a new password. Leave this field blank to leave your password unchanged.
To add a new credit card or update your credit card details, click "Change credit card information".
To remove a credit card, click "Remove existing card".
