    Subject: Interest to be charged by link branches of SBI on debit balance lying in A/c
    No. l, 2, 10 & 21- reg.

    Sir,
    Reference is invited to the circular of even No. dated 02.03.2017 (Posted at SL
    No . 671) vide which the position of exceeding O.D. limit in A/c No. 4. 5, 11 & 25 for the period
    upto Jan-2017 was infom1ed.

    ' In continuation to the above circular, it is informed that during the period Feb-
    7017 ~o Oct-201.L__there were no occasion on which the closing balance of A/c No. 5, 4, 11 & .25
    had exceeded to the sanctioned OD limit. If the debit balance of Ale No. 5. l 1 & 25 exceeded
    over the sanctioned limit on any occasion (dates) during the period, SBI, Mumbai Main Branch
    had debited interest centrally_Jrom Ale No. 5, 11 or 25 on the debit balances lying in all the link
    branches pe1iaining to Ale No . I, IO & 21 as the overall debit balance for EPFO was higher than
    the centrally sanctioned OD limit.

    3. AU the offices are, therefore, advised to verify and ensure that the bank has
    not charged any interest on debit balance lying in A/c No. 1, 2, 10 & 21 in the period Feb-
    2017 to Oct-2017.

    4. !f_Jhe Jink brnnch of SBI has wrongly debited any amount for any dates of th~
    ~bov~_mentione~xiod. the conc~rned R01SRO may take-up the matter with their link branch
    for re-credit of the debited amount with interest. It is noticed that some RO/SRO are simply
    reporting to this office that their link branch has debited some wrong amount. [n this connection ,
    it is infom1ed that only wh~l}_.S.!11 does not credit in respect of a.ill:'. w1:ongly_debited amount
    desmte all __ effo1is laid down_ vide_ this office circular __ no. B..kg.7(112004/NBA/Vol.-VT/17021
    dated 18.12.2013 (at SL No. 592 of 2013-14). the matter may be forwarded to Head Office
    alongwith minutes of meeting with SBI on the subject and relevant communications for taking
    unJ:he matter with SBL_Corporate Centre. Mumbai through Addl. CPFC(Zones).
