ASSESSMENT
Name: Mark Angelo P. Aquino Date: 09/08/2021 Class Schedule: MWF 10:00 – 11:00
Course & Year: BSCRIM – 1A

I. Answer the following.

1. What is the 8th term of the Fibonacci Sequence? (1 point)

The 8th term of the Fibonacci Sequence is 21.

2. What is the 16th term of the Fibonacci Sequence? (1 point)

The 16th term of the Fibonacci Sequence is 987.

3. What is the 50th term of the Fibonacci Sequence? (1 point)

The 50th term of the Fibonacci Sequence is 12, 586, 269, 020.

4. What is the next term of the sequence 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, …(1 point)

The next term of the sequence 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, is 64.

5. What is the missing number in the sequence 3, 5, 9, __, 23, 33? (1 point)

The missing number in the sequence 3, 5, 9, __, 23, 33 is 15.

6. What is the next three terms of the sequence 10, 9, 7, 4, 0, __,…?(1 point)

The next three terms of the sequence 10, 9, 7, 4, 0 are -5, -11, and -18.

7. What is the missing number in the sequence -10, -6, -2, __, 6, 10? (1 point)

The missing term in the sequence -10, -6, -2, __, 6, 10 is 2.

8. What is the missing number in the sequence 24, __, 18, 15, 12, 9? (1 point)

The missing number in the sequence 24, __, 18, 15, 12, 9 is 21.

9. Describe the nature of the number pattern 88, 77, 55, 22, … (if it is
shrinking/decreasing, growing/increasing or repeating) (1 point)

The nature of the number pattern 88, 77, 55, 22 is decreasing.

10. How are each term related to one another in the sequence 2, 90, 4, 78, 6, 65, 8,
51, 10? (1 point)

As I scrutinized deeply the problem I assert that each other is related to

one another in a means that if we are going to take that literally, we can
say they are all numbers forming a sequence with a distinct pattern in
which for every number from the first, 3 rd, 5th etc. term it adds 2 for the next
number. For the 2nd, 4th, 6th etc. term, it was supposed to be 90, 78, 65, 51.
Wherein, it started to subtract by 12 then, subtract by 13 then, subtract by
14 to find the next term, all I need to do is to subtract by 15 to the current
number, which 51 then you can get 36.

II. Aside from the examples given, can you give other examples of Fibonacci Sequence
in Nature? (10 points)

The other examples of Fibonacci Sequence in Nature are Pinecones,

Flower Pistils, Hurricane or storm, American Giant Millipede, Monarch
Caterpillar, Chameleon Tail, Spiral Galaxies, Fern Fiddleheads, Calla
Lilies, and Comfrey Flowers.

III. As a performance task, discover how golden ratio is evident on human body. Fill in
the data provided. You can use any measuring tool and use inches as the unit of your
measurements. (20 points)

My Data

Measurement

Distance from your knees to the ground A = ___20 inches______

Distance from your belly button to the ground B = ___39 inches______

Distance from the top of your head to your C = ___27 inches______

belly button

Distance from your wrist to your elbows D = __ 11 inches______

Length of your hand E = ___7 inches_______

Refer to the figure below: F = ___ 2 inches______

G = _ _ 3 inches_______

H = ___5 inches_______

Get the ratio of the following and round-off your answer to the nearest ten thousandths.

1. B ÷ C = ___1.4444_inches___

2. B ÷ A = ___1.9500_inches___

3. D ÷ E = ___1.5714_inches___

4. G ÷ F = ___1.5000_inches___

5. H ÷ G = ___1.6666_inches___

What can you say about the ratios from numbers 1 to 5?

I must say that the ratio from 1-5 is a result of the comparison of the numbers

that indicates their sizes about each other, especially in the human body. Aside

from this, the ratio also is not in repeating, decreasing or increasing patterns

however it is organized in random order.
