- Quiz Edmodo
 Goals:
Students are expected to:  Vocabulary:
- understand the application of integers in Integers: Bilangan Bulat
daily life More than: lebih dari
- comparing the integers Less than: Kurang dari
Rise: Naik, bertambah
Above: di atas
Below: di bawah

Do you ever see it?

Thermometer is one of integers’ application in real life. Besides that, we also have sea level, debt, and
Time Zone based on GMT (Greenwich Meridian Time)

In the number line, you can see as the following:

NEGATIVE number is all numbers on the LEFT of ZERO

POSITIVE number is all numbers on the RIGHT of ZERO

A number which is on the LEFT of another numbers, is LESS THAN that number
A number which is on the RIGHT of another numbers, is MORE THAN that number

MATHEMATICS 1
COMPARING INTEGERS

Is 2 more than or less than -5?

 Since 2 is on the RIGHT of -5, SO 2 is MORE than -5 (you can write as 2 > -5)

Is -7 more than or less than -3?

 Since -7 is on the LEFT of -3, SO -7 is LESS than -3 (you can write as -7 < -3)

Is 47653 is more than or less than 8699

 Since 47653 has 5 digits and 8699 has 4 digits, SO it is easily said that 47653 is more
than 8699

Is 8592 more than or less than 8693?

 Both 8592 and 8693 has 4 digits. So, to determine which is the bigger we have to
know the place value of each number.
 focus to the hundreds
8592 has 5 as the 500
8693 has 6 as the 600  Since 500 is less than 600 SO … 8592 is less than 8693

MATHEMATICS 2
1. Is -547578 is more than or less than -595326 ?

2. Andaikan symbol “b” mewakili suatu angka, tentukan angka b agar bilangan
63b452 lebih kecil dari 635452. Jelaskan!

3. Diketahui bilangan X, Y, dan Bilangan Z.

Bilangan X = 123abc
Bilangan
Y = 45bcde
Bilangan
Z = 9abcd
Jika setiap huruf pada bilangan tersebut mewakili suatu angka, urutkan
bilangan tersebut dari yang terbesar? Jelaskan.

Exercise:
1. Is 89 is more than or less than 23?

2. Which one is higher: -24 or -90?

a. 3.816 c. 7.083
b. 4.816 d. 8.183

MATHEMATICS 3
2nd & 3rd Meeting
 TOPIC:  Assessment:
INTEGERS - Activeness in Edmodo
- Quiz Edmodo
 Goals:
Students are expected to:
- be able to do addition and subtraction in  Vocabulary:
Integers Number line: Garis bilangan
- solving problems involving addition and Addition: Penjumlahan
subtraction Subtraction: Pengurangan

ADDITION AND SUBSTRACTION

We can use number line to find the result of addition and subtraction

3+4=7

6-2=4 OR 6 + (-2) = 4

(-2) + 5 = 3

(-2) + (-1) = -3 OR (-2) – 1 = -3

TRY THIS, yaaa!

1. 4 + (-9) = _______ 2. (-8) + (-1) = _____ 3. (-7) – 8 = ______

MATHEMATICS 4
We can also use symbol positive and negative

We represent 3 by and -3 by

LET’S TRY SOME EXAMPLE

5 + (-2)
The result = 3

-5 – (-3) = -5 + 3
(-5) + 2
The result = -3 8 + (-4) = 8 – 4

(-5) + (-2) The result = -7

MATHEMATICS 5
How is it guys? Can you do it….
Don’t worry, if you still confuse with that … you can try it again…. Don’t give up…
Ingat yaa,, anak bayi juga awalnya belum bisa berjalan… tetapi karena selalu berlatih
akhirnya bahkan dia bisa berlari 

Look at this example:

1. The temperature of a village on a particular night is -110 C. The next morning, the
temperature rises by 70 C. Find the temperature in the morning?
Answer:

Since it’s rising so we will use addition

-11 + 7 =

So, the result is -4

If you already master it, you can answer it directly 

2. A city is located at a height of 138 m above sea level while a town is at a height of 51 m
below the sea level. Find the difference in altitude between the city and the town?
Answer:
We can draw the situation:

Sea level means ZERO point

Above sea level means positive number

Below sea level means negative number

So….
The difference between the city and the town = 138 – (-51) = 138 + 51 = 189 m

MATHEMATICS 6
TRY THIS, yaaa!

1.

2. Find the value of each of the following

a. 23 + (-10)
b. -20 + 12
c. 22 – (-10)
d. 18 – (-22)
e. -21 – 17

3. Edward ingin membuat katrol timba air. Ketinggian katrol 2 m di atas permukaan
tanah dan permukaan air 3 m di bawah permukaan tanah. Berapa panjang tali
dari permukaan air ke katrol?

4. Sebuah kapal selam, mula-mula menyelam 120 m di bawah permukaan laut.

Kemudian kapal bergerak ke bawah sejauh 60 m. Nyatakan posisi kapal selam
dari permukaan laut dengan penjumlahan bilangan bulat.

MATHEMATICS 7

and division
- solving Mixed Operation

We have learnt in ES that 2 x 3 = 3 x 2 = 6

What do you think -2 x 3 and (-2) x (-3) ???

Here is a summary table to help you answer that question:

Berlaku juga untuk

pembagian ya

SO, -2 x 3 = -6 and -2 x (-3) = 6

(-) x (+) = (-) (-) x (-) = (+)

-25 x 5 = -5 and -28 x (-4) = 7 36 : (-9) = -4

(-) : (+) = (-) (-) : (-) = (+) (+) : (-) = (-)

Hapalkan perkalian yaa… Trust me it’s help you Much!!!

MATHEMATICS 8
Exercise
Calculate the result:

1. 3 × (-9) =
2. -7 × (-5) =
3. -8 × 14 =
4. -6 × 0 =
5. 24 × (-2) × (-3) =
6. -4 × (-2) × (-1) × 9 =
7. -21 ÷ 3 =
8. 36 ÷ (-9)=
9. (-72) ÷(-2)=
10. (-2) × (10) ÷(- 8) =

MATHEMATICS 9
I find a math’s problem including
(×), ( ÷), (−), (+), and ( ).
What should I do??

MIXED OPERATION

If you are as confused as that boy… Please, don’t be worry… We have a magical
formula for you….

Example:
1. Calculate:
60 – 15 × 25 ÷ (10 – 5) + 6

Answer:
Applying PEMDAS rules step by step:
60 – 2 × 25 ÷ (10 – 5) + 6 = 60 – 2 × 25 ÷ (10 – 5) + 6
= 60 – 50 ÷ 5 + 6
= 60 – 10 + 6
= 50 + 6
= 56
