PREFACE

Electrical engineering is engineering of discipline

concerned with studies of design , application of
equipment, devices and systems which uses
electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. This
project is meant to describe the use of electricity
more efficiently and try to save the electricity , and
in order we are presenting an amazing idea . Most
of the topics are written in an easy dialogue style
engaging the readers constantly and included with
more informatics comment. We assure that you go
through this project thoroughly to know a bit more
facts about electronics.
ABOUT PROJECT
Here is our ELECTRONICS PROJECT about BIKE TURNING SIGNAL
INDICATOR CIRCUIT.

Turn Indicator Lights also known as Directional Indicators (formally) or

Blinkers, Flashers (informally), are an essential part all automobiles whether
a bike or a car.

Bike Turning Signals are used to indicate the intent of left turn or right
turn to other users of the road.

In our daily life we see vehicles turning indicators when they turn left or
right. Here we are building a fancy Car/Bike Turning Indicator circuit
using 555 timer IC.
WORKING
The main component of this circuit is the infamous 555 Timer IC. Here,
these 555 timer acts as an Astable multi vibrator. It generates the pulse
signal with variable width. Using this variable width of the pulse, we can
set different time delays for the LEDs (ON and OFF for LEDs). The
circuit consists of two important resistors (100KΩ and 470KΩ), which are
connected to 555 timer and these are used to set the time delay for LEDs .
The output of the 555 Timer IC is given to either LEFT indicator LED or
the RIGHT Indicator LED using a Slide Switch.1N4148 signal diode is
connected in reverse bias at the output to maintain constant current at the
output. BC547 (NPN) Transistor switches the LED’s and Buzzer ON and
OFF based on the base currents. 330 ohm resistors are used to drop the
voltage otherwise LEDs may get damaged. Here we can vary the time
width of output pulse by varying the resistance or capacitance value.

CONCLUSION

In this work, we have designed a bike turning indicator circuit which uses a
555 timer IC. In this project we have discussed about the making and
working of the bike turning indicator circuit along with proper circuit
diagram. We have also described in detail about the numerous components
used in the project along with their respective diagrams. Discussions has
also been made on the theoretical calculations of the project. After
completing this project, we three have acquired a lot of knowledge about
various topics of electronics. It was a very pleasant experience in making
this project and being a part of it.
